Try to get the itinerary before departing so you know what to expect on the ship. (Ex: Night events, special performances, etc.)
tracieesquivel
do less shows in the centrum not big enough for every one to watch

The Vision of the Seas is a very nice ship for its size.
lorrykn
Sail the Vision first before the bigger ships. You'll really enjoy her then.
SeaShell10
If you are looking to simply relax, drink and not see anything spectacular on the ship then this is for you. While staff and kids club are great there's not much else to see or do onboard that doesn't cost more money.

Go for it the best money we have ever spent and the most fun we have ever had.

Since we felt so much of the rocking, I would definitely bring sea sickness meds, just in case. I would also see this ship as a great opportunity to rest and read so bring a book! There was only one super dressy night at dinner, but there are opportunities to take pictures all but the last night. Pictures are $20 so be prepared for that if you want an 8x10. Eat at the Windjammer. It's pretty great. It is also very windy on this ship. Just keep that in mind when planning wardrobe. Bring socks for the rock wall as it is required to climb (they provide shoes). I think that's it!

This ship is pretty old, so I would opt for one of those new giant ships that Royal Caribbean has going now.
thecmpfam
This is a smaller ship then others; therefore, it does not have a huge water park area. However, the swimming pools are good including the hot tubs.

Know your layout and don't be too proud to use the visual aids. Unless you need the exercise...:)

Get involved.

Older ship with personality, lacking some newer additions the bigger ships may have.
renwilson
Be prepared for a rocky ride if there's a storm, bring extra entertainment and money for gratuities because everything costs; even your purchases.

It is a good if you're going on your first cruise. Not overwhelming, but enough to get your feet wet (so to speak) to go on other cruises.

Don't Use The Spa!

If you are on your first cruise this ship moves with the waves quite a bit. This is a smaller ship and you could feel the swaying. There is not an atrium full of shops or any of those extras. It is pretty basic.

Book a longer cruise!

This is a great ship for relaxation. It also has a lot of deck chairs on 5 so you can enjoy the open deck. It doesn't have a lot of the bells and whistles of the newer ships but it is incredibly nice, clean, and has a ton of activities. Give yourself time to explore the ship. There's a lot of cool artwork.

Expect to have a marvelous and engaging time. There was plenty to do and enjoy.
