Review summary

Been there and experienced a cruise. Not for me. Don't want a vacation where the two major forms of entertainment are to purchase a drink package and drink to excess or eat to excess because of boredom with very few original onboard activities.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Very quick process to get on board. After that you are funneled to go to a very crowded buffet area and wait for 3 hours until the rooms are available.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was plentiful but the quality was just ok. The assigned dining room was nice and our servers were good but the food again was just ok. This is a small ship so there were not a lot of specialty restaurants.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
This is a smaller ship so the activites were limited and very different than you see on commercials that show cruise trips. You can only play trivia so often and then other than the pool not much to do. Nice gym facilities and a walking trail. The television in the room was horrible. There should be more television and movie library to watch when getting ready and to fall asleep. The tv shows were so limited that we saw the same loop everyday.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The headliner shows were very good and the comedians were great and the other ok. The best thing this ship had going for it was a fantastic cruise director Ken. He did a scavenger contest for adults only that was great and a version of the newlywed game that had my party rolling in the aisle...of course that had a lot to do with the contestants. The DJ was ok and the house band was ok.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Our steward was excellent the first 2 days and then hard to find the rest of the time. Called room service on several occasions and did not get a response.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Nice size room. Not big but we were comfortable. The shower was so small that you had to turn off water and move the curtain to suds up then close the curtain to run the water to rinse off.

Ship tip

If you are on your first cruise this ship moves with the waves quite a bit. This is a smaller ship and you could feel the swaying. There is not an atrium full of shops or any of those extras. It is pretty basic.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
Very commercial.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very easy. Just have your passport ready and a little patience.

That is an old expression. I'm sure know that. I didn't make it up.

Pig?? Excessive huh??

Don't judge by just one cruise on an older smaller ship. Most newer ships have so many activities that you can't do them all. Not everyone drinks to excess or acts like a pig around food. Research a few ships and give it another try.

At least you tried it once. You're right cruising isn't for everyone😉
