This was our first time on Viking, but not our first cruise.  We were pleasantly surprised!   The ship was beautiful, staff charming and helpful, food was delicious, excursions were great, they even have free laudrymat!  Couldnt have asked for a better experience. Thank you!  We will be back!!

Viking meticulously managed every aspect of a wonderful trip.  All features of the ship and its operation were perfect.  A wide option of onshore activities was offered at each port and guided by local professional and highly experienced guides.  The Viking staff and crew were extremely friendly and thorough in carrying out their duties to the ship and its guests.  We were extremely impressed with the constant effort to make our trip comfortable and enjoyable.  Dining and menu options provided for every need and appetite from a wide offering buffet setting to fine dining in a non-formal setting.

Very clean modern ship, nice staterooms with excellent bathrooms.    Some TV noise from adjacent cabin, called front desk and they handled problem .  Entertainment and food could be a little better.

The Viking Star and Crew make it difficult to return to the other cruise line venues. The accommodations are superb, meal presentation excellent, and the crew and staff pamper the traveler. 

The only issue that we had was due to conflict on Corsica which was beyond the control of the cruise line.  As a result, we did not travel to Corsica which forced us to have to visit a port and city that we had seen before.  It was unfortunate but unavoidable.

The rest of the cruise was amazing and we will are already in contact with Viking regarding our next cruise.  

I read a lot of bad reviews about this ship and about Vikings Ocean, but I think Viking was paying attention and they did a wonderful job in this 14 day cruise. The service was as expected from Vikings: Excellent. The ship is beautiful, and very comfortable. We are more interested on the shore excursions than the nightly entertainment, so for us the shows and port talks were good. Regarding the shore excursions the included are mainly a bus ride and a walking tour of the town, with some free time. The optional that we did were great, well organized and very interesting. We did not encounter large crowds anywhere because of the time of the year we went, which made the whole experience great. The food is amazing, the only restaurant that we personally did not like was the Chef's Table, but the rest were great. We were upgraded to a penthouse, but other than a free minibar, I think all the cabins are great. The bed was very good, enough space for all our clothes and more, the bathroom was large enough for both of us to be there. We are even thinking to book another ocean cruise with Vikings again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent cruise on the Viking Star.  Our Penthouse Junior Suite was lovely, the public spaces on the ship were attractive and comfortable, and the service was impeccable!!  Our suite stewards Armando and Bobby were wonderful and our wine steward Christopher was delightful!  They made our cruise so enjoyable!  Our Viking River Cruises have always been first class; this ocean cruise was no less up to Viking's high standards!  

The food was fabulous; Accommodations were terrific and the Viking Star staff went out of their way to ensure we were happy. My only perceived negative was that the internet connection was spotty. I guess this is to be expected but was the only minor annoyance. We will gladly cruise with Viking in the future. The Indonesian head chef at Manfredy's certainly knows his craft! We are both Italian, have traveled throughout Italy many times and certainly know Italian cuisine. Kudos on a great job!

We had so many problems and on-going issues with this cruise that it is difficult to fit into this survey. I have written a detailed letter to our cruise agent, Kristi Pullman and I hope she will forward it to you.

* Ship lost our dinner reservations in specialty restaurants continuously

* Waitress in Manfredi's was over the top rude to us

* Sheets not changed on bed last 3 nights

* Excursion tours didn't include what they advertised

* Lack of entertainment and when one local dance group was suppose to appear, they simply didn't show up

* Four attempts at breakfast room service and never once got the right order

* Directions on printed Viking Daily very confusing and crew admitted it

* Post hotel in Barcelona total nightmare

The Cruise was wonderful with only a few glitches. 

We were not told that we needed visas for Turkey beforehand.  Created some confusion and a hassle to get them done online.  Turned out that we were never asked for them.  At $20.00 each quite a lot of money for the Turkish Government.

Would like to see more "seminars" on board.  History, Arts, people etc.

The Port talks were only OK.

This was the last of my 3 b2b cruises and first viking. I overall like the look of the ship but not layout (pool was like a sauna then you go to winter garden which was super cold). For the money spent I did better on the other 2 cruises. The excursion while we'll organized with gather people were not up to a 6 star cruise line. The food while great variety was cold which was a big surprise as a got there as soon as buffet open. This is first and last viking cruise

Viking is a wonderful cruise company to sail with and would always be my first choice.

Great cruise! Was worried about the amount of people on the ship after taking river cruises but the ship never felt crowded. The rooms are spacious with plenty of storage. I did like the room set up of the Avalon rooms better with the beds facing the windows. The food is fine - nothing special. Food on the Avalon river cruise was better and more unique.

For our first ocean cruise, we were very happy with the experience. The size of the ship seems nearly perfect and never felt crowded. On the last day, we realized that there were elements/activities that we hadn't even had time to utilize.

Wonderful experience. The included ships tours were a bit of a let down. The guides often had poor English and the itinerary did not seem to cover all the highlights in the allocated time. Too much “free time” for shopping and not value. For example we took the hop on hop off bus in Barcelona the day after the included ship tour and learnt so much more by doing this.

Excellent way to visit several different places in the Adriatic coast. Everything about the onboard experience was fabulous. The ship was beautiful, service was excellent, food wonderful.

The ship is nice, the food has too much sugar or salt. Can't hear any announcements in your room. The staff is wonderful and should have their name and country in large letters.

This was an amazing trip. One of my best. I highly recommend it.

We've taken about 20 cruises on Princess, plus also used RC, Celebrity, and a couple other small ones. Would say that food was way above Princess, service was below, both in cabins and especially in the restaurants. Good atmosphere on the ship -- people were there to learn about Cuba more than for the cruise experience -- although the free wine seemed to be VERY popular, even with this older crowd! Really liked the emphasis on the cultural experience, history, politics, economy, etc.
