Review summary

The only issue that we had was due to conflict on Corsica which was beyond the control of the cruise line.  As a result, we did not travel to Corsica which forced us to have to visit a port and city that we had seen before.  It was unfortunate but unavoidable.

The rest of the cruise was amazing and we will are already in contact with Viking regarding our next cruise.

Yes, the food service and room attendant went out of their way to ensure that all of our needs were met- it was very personalized service

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was beautifully designed and all of Viking rooms have a veranda. We were in a Deluxe Veranda room- we upgraded at a big additional expense when we learned from Viking that the room category originally selected (wish we had better counsel when we originally booked from the agent!!!) would not allow us the excursions we wanted.

Ship tip

What a fabulous ship, cabin and crew. We would recommend all three to anyone considering a cruise but look at a Deluxe Veranda category for the best options in specialty dining and excursion selection.

Would suggest the Provence excursion. It was one of the real highlights of the trip.

Monte Carlo, Monaco

We loved the Nice excursion. The boat is located right off the coast and the port made entry into the town easy.

Ajaccio, Corsica

Was really looking forward to seeing this island and disappointed that we had to bypass the island entirely

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

5 out of 5
The Florence Your Way dropped us off right in front of the Santa Croce church which was one of the main reasons for the cruise. Our agent was not familiar with the transfers and had us unnecessarily concerned about getting to Florence which was unnecessary as they bused us directly there for minimal cost.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

This was not our first trip to Rome so we booked a cooking class while in Rome and really enjoyed being part of what felt like the local community.
