We had an outstanding cruise with Viking. We have completed 39 or 40 cruises prior and Viking stands far above all the others.

Disappointed in Viking, as was surprised how they treat people with slight disabilities. I think most first time folks with any physical problems won't be back. At least, that's what they told me.

We enjoyed the cruise but with the cancellation of one of the ports, we had too many sea days. Also, would have liked to have more time in Cabo. Panama Canal transit was great--there was a speaker on the ship that did alot of narration during the transit.

Be prepared to encounter unapologetic guest service staff who pointing fingers to someone else externally and /or internally and is well trained to sweep the dirt under the carpet.

Relaxing, laidback, prepare to be with very mature adults. Clean, awesome food, wonderful staff. The staff are genuinely happy to work for Viking. Excursions included in every port is definitely a plus.

We had done 7 prior cruises with Viking. We knew what to expect. That is why we were disappointed with Viking Homelands. We had high expectations, but we were highly diappointed, not because of the ship or service, but because we paid high dollars for a 14 days cruise that will take us to magnificent places, but they decided to change them for very low quality places, and the included tours were below our expectations.

If you are the least bit mobility impaired, think twice about booking this trip especially if the weather is going to be hot. The sights you see are amazing but be prepared for long walks over uneven, rocky terrain. If you like wearing flip flops on excursions, please reconsider. The Mars staff was not up to what I have had on other Viking Ocean cruises and that was a bit disheartening. On the other hand, their food was better than I remember, with the chefs not afraid to give the food some taste.

A cruise of a lifetime. Excellent itinerary except for the change to include Jeddah - they are not ready for tourists yet. Viking is first-class - ship and staff.

WE both enjoyed the cruise, the ports of call and the people on ship and in the countries of New Zealand and Australia.

Cruise was excellent. Only two comments: Could have used one more day in Singapore instead of jakarta. Optional tour in Bali for 139.00 dinner/traditional hindu dance was not worth it.

My wife and I have cruised with many different lines over the years because the itinerary is my first consideration. I believe that Viking Ocean is now one of my first choices for a number of reasons- no casino (thus, no casino smoking), no children, small number of passengers, great food tastes and variety.

We had a great time. We took both included and additional excursions and enjoyed most of them. It was hard for us to decide on best port as most were excellent. We would have preferred an extra day in Copenhagen versus either Bornholm or Aaland Island. Food was excellent as it was hard to beat Manfredi's and the Chef's Table. And the World Cafe was a good go to spot for breakfast and lunch. We also enjoyed the Nordic Spa experience. Pre Cruise, we traveled on our own by train, boat, and bus from Oslo to Bergen via Flam (railway). We strayed overnight in Flam. Post cruise, we added back on our own the two (Helsinki and Tallinn) of the three stops that were eliminated because of the Ukraine. We glad that visited both Helsinki and Tallinn. And we added a four day layover in Reykjavik and Iceland is not to be missed. Viking allowed us to do so much pre, during and post cruise as we used Viking Air (Plus) to make the travel arrange between our home to Oslo and from Stockholm. Our cruise gave us lifetime memories.

Viking Mars is best sorted probably for those in their seventies. I would say the average age was 75. The food was fantastic. There were lectures to listen to and I would describe the cruise as a scholarly cruise. I enjoyed the night time entertainment with the singers and music. If you want a more party cruise then Viking is probably not for you. Make sure you bring cash; Viking can only make change. There is not an ATM on board.

This was a great cruise! The one issue my wife and I had was our 2 checked bags never made it to our ship and this was a 15 day cruise. The ship tried to get our bags transferred to our ship during the entire time. I knew where the bags were but to no avail. The ship did offer to do our laundry everyday which we appreciated. They also gave us a small onboard credit to buy any incidentals which we did. The ship also contacted me everyday for status updates. We just went with the flow and didn't allow this to affect our trip. We finally got our bags back 10 days after we reurrned home.

Wonderful cruise. Viking is so amazing and they do everything right.
