Glad that I went. I learned that inaugural seasons are not for me. Also there were not enough sea days for me to unwind. Ports most days in beautiful places was tiring. This is a beautiful new ship.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Princess does not provide bus service from entrance of terminal. Be sure to pay 3 Euros local bus fare from train station. Green ‘ready to go’ passengers were put in a holding area and made to wait while non-ready behind us in line boarded for 30 minutes.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Buffet was underwhelming. Limited selection and space allocated was very small compared to other ships.
Main dining room service is very good. Suggest sticking with meat comfort meals. Many ingredient substitutions (menu said spinach, received lettuce with a leek quiche, oatmeal was porridge (not oat based), ….)
Casual Albert’s Pizzeria side dishes were excellent. The pizza and calzones were cooked at high temperatures, burnt edges and un melted cheese in center. Pepperoni was like American baloney, spell check is making autocorrecting so sorry for the spelling.
Onboard Activities

Lovely fitness studio and during sea days Zumba was well instructed and attended.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
With inaugural season only one production show in 20 days and very little availability. The Piazza musicians were good. If you highly value performances like I do, inaugural seasons may not be for you.
Service and Staff

Drink staff were very good. Minimal waiting. Princess On-board ordering never worked for us but did for others. We had the standard drink package and pretty much had to go to the bar to order our drinks.
Ship Quality

It depends. It isn’t standard practice to wipe common area tables, only bus dishes. If you asked, you got your table wiped. For a new ship, it was not shiny, there are a lot of punch list items to get thru.
Cabin / Stateroom

Very clean. Pictures look lovely and it is. It is also very tight in the hallway and the shower. For the first few days my elbows hit the water on-off (I’m not big, 5’7” and 150 pounds, not sure what taller people are experiencing)
Refueled liquid natural gas at this port so we were very far from town. Princess charged for a bus to the center city but you. Can get a city bus for 2 Euros once outside the terminal. There were signs for a city bus port side but only Princess paid buses were allowed in.
Carried our own luggage. Princess staff didn’t know where the city bus was to the train station. Had to ask several people. 3 Euros per person and the cram the bus full. People standing and luggage every where. Train is very easy to take back to Rome.
