Truly a great ship with a wonderful staff. Shows were wonderful. Casino had none interesting slots but they were being upgraded. Getting on and off was easy at the home ports and at the islands.

Serenade of the Seas-Southern Caribbean by BethanyA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship itself was nice-very clean. Room stewards are very attentive and super friendly. The atrium was beautiful, as well as the main dining room. I had a room with a balcony that was great. The room was a good size and very comfortable for 2 people.

A Great Adventure by RussellR1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Great Experience however the outside entertainment has much to be desired. I understand that each cruise is a little different but the the Thanksgiving Holidays selection was not too great. The onboard entertainers were good and enjoyable to watch.

Great First Cruise by Mendez

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Hawaii

This was our first cruise so we had no preconceived ideas of how it should by or what to expect. My first thought when boarding the ship was that the demographic of the other guest was very very old (80-90+). The first few days out at sea we were somewhat disappointed with the energy level of the cruise given the older audience, especially the activities and entertainment. We knew they should cater to this audience since that was the majority on board but felt that very little effort was made to please younger people. The majority of the activities were bingo, trivia, crafts, you get the idea. One thing to note is that most aspects of cruising seems to be tailored to a 7 day cruise, the menus, activities, entertainment, etc. so for a 15 day cruise like this it really felt like the staff was 'treading water" trying to spread out their pre-determined agenda with lots of filler. Another small nit-pic for me was that "free" drinks like lemonade and ice tea are only available in the buffet, so if you're lounging at the pool you have to walk all the way to the back of the ship to get a drink you don't have to pay for when there are two bars right there. That felt a little like we were being punished for not getting paid drinks. Having said all that, the ports and excursions were amazing and the trip was amazing value. We still had fun and relaxed a lot. We would probably do it again.

Wonderful! by LauraC13

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This was our first cruise and all my fears about cruising have been eliminated. I was afraid of feeling closed in and that was not possible on a ship this size. I thought I would get bored, not so. The Serenade of the Seas is beautiful. There was so much to do and you could choose to participate or simply do nothing and relax. We enjoyed the comedians at the shows. They were very funny. We had a balcony stateroom and this turned out to be a perfect choice especially since we were cruising to Alaska. The views were beautiful right from the comfort of our own room. The room was very well laid out and had amazing storage for all of our things. The ship was spacious, beautiful and very clean. The staff all around was more than accomodating. The only problem we had was that my daughter's sea pass card would not open our door to the stateroom. It worked everywhere else on the ship, just would not open the door. They tried to fix it a number of times, but could not. It was a minor inconvenience. We ate at the Chops Grille one night and it was worth the extra money. The service and food were excellent. We had no problem getting a reservation even with a full ship. My daughter was able to use the spa and highly recommends the seaweed wrap with the full body massage. The woman who took care of her knew just how to deal with a teenager to make her feel comftable and thoroughly enjoy the experience. I highly recommend this ship and this cruise to Alaska. We had a wonderful time and consider it one of our best vacations. When we wanted to relax we could and when we wanted to do activities we could.

Serenade of the Seas by SuziS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Just came back from sailing with Royal Carribean SERENADE OF THE SEAS. We chose this ship because of the stops on its itinerary. I do't like being 'stuck' at sea gambling or shopping on board or fighting for a longe chair. We stopped at St. Thomas, St. Maartin, Antigua, St. Lucia, and Barbados. Our outside balcony cabin was small (as usual). TV was broke and had bad reception. Our room service guy was very attentive, polite and great at cleaning up after my teenager. I found the food not as good as before (Jewel and Mariner of the Seas). Food has definately gone 'downhill'!!!!! Beef was horrible, fish was cheap, and scrambled eggs are fake & horrible!!!! Get a 'made-to-order' omelette instead. Everything costs extra.....fresh squeeze oj (3.95 per glass), Diet coke (which was horrible), Tropical drinks ($10), Miller Light ($5). A photo was $20!!!! .55 cents a minute to connect to internet and no printers!!! It is truly ridiculous on everything they charge you for. Shows were ok. Last night they had a comedian for 15 minutes, then showed you a DVD of the week that you could buy. Ugh....please save it for a business conference...not vacation!!! The elevator buttons were always sticky and dirty (use your elbow). Rugs needed cleaning in certain areas. Otherwise my cabin was clean. Bathroom smelled a bit. I could only take cruises once every 3 years or so. I like all-inclusives better. Food is better and they don't nickle and dime you to death!!!!! I did do some great excursions that I found on my own.
