The cruise and especially all the crew were very friendly and accommodating.

There were some logistical hiccups that resulted in some waits in lines getting on and off the ship.

Cruisin' the East Coast by Cruiser83694738

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Boston and Bar Harbor were absolutely lovely this time of year. Personally, we enjoyed the walking tours which allowed us to have the benefit of a guide giving the history of each location we visited.

Do NOT miss the trip to Peggy's Cove when you go to Nova Scotia! The view is worth the trip.

Great trip by debbiestan

Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The cruise was really great the staff were superb.  The only problem we had was the waiting to get on ship and getting off for tender boat.  Loved Bar Harbor Maine.  Was very beautiful.  Looked like something you would see on TV. Nova Scotia was also very beautiful and colorful.Peggy's cove was lovely.  I must say the ocean was gorgeous.

good and room for improvement by rfk0703

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

1. Arcadia national park is great. St. Martin and Halifx are pretty too. On shore time was too short.

2. Stateroom was clean and confortable, meals were decent and services were good.

3. Embarking and disembarking need to be more organized. Staffs should be more involved.

4. The last two days, deck12 was very smelly.

Embarkation...... by Cruiser34490559

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The Cruise was fine but the embarkation  at Boston was a farce. The lady who checked us in could not even key in credit card numbers to her keyboard. The queues were so long that eventually the police were called to patrol. Individual checks were taking at least 20 minutes. Tempers were raising - not a good start to your holiday.

Canada--New England late summer cruise by jimspillman46

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Favorite part was visiting the three ports. I wish the port stops were not three consecutive days. Also, departing the ship on a tender in Bar Harbor was difficult for an old person.

Chris Layman's Cruise by curlybop

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

The WHOLE cruise was the best part of the cruise, from my cabin to going ashore. Could not have asked for better weather, better food, better service !!! The ports were great - learned a lot on St John's and Halifax !!!

Very good by jacmont

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

We really enjoyed this cruise.  The embarkment  process needs work. 2.5 hours is too long. The late night snack options at the cafe could be better. A supreme pizza should be added to the pepperoni and cheese pizza options.

The staff was very helpful and friendly.

I would recommend to a friend.

Serenade of the seas by betsyc63

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

We chose this cruise for the 5 night itinerary, not the ship. The check in process was lengthy and  frustrating.  The ship was understaffed; had to wait in lines at bars, guest services, shore excursions daily.  The bed was very comfortable and the shower pressure was great.

Fantastic trip.  Smooth seas, great sites, great service and good food.  A little disorganized getting us on the ship, but after that it was excellent.

"Senior" travelers have disposable income too! by Cruiser37837666

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

The itinerary was great-the Baltic was beautiful.  Iceland excursions consistently exceeded expectations.  Guides were excellent--English was excellent.  Ship staff frequently ignored the older traveler in the shops and in public venues, which is unusual as we tend to have more disposable income.  Excursions were as noted and met all expectations. Cabin was maintained in an excellent manner.

Review of my cruise on Serenade of the Seas from Copenhagen to Boston by geordielass

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

The Itinerary is always the most important part when we choose a particular cruise.  This one was excellent.  The Ports of call were all places we were interested in visiting and all measured up to our expectations.  Norway, Iceland and Halifax, Nova Scotia were all very beautiful with great weather.

Great itinerary by louisekorr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

The best part were the ports of call.  Iceland is awesome.  They also had a bridge director which was a definite plus on the sea days.  The entertainment was also very good.

On the negative side, My Time Dining was a disaster.  It took up to 1/2 hour to get a table even with a reservation.  Table and waiter requests were not routinely honored.  The food in the dining room was pretty good.  The service in the Windjammer was lacking.  The staff for the most part were unfriendly, unsmiling and not customer service oriented.

Despite the shortcomings we really enjoyed the cruise and would recommend this ship and itinerary.

Good overall. by marja18

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

Cruise was good.  Room good.  Favorite part: classical concerts and talks with pianist Brooks Aehron, and violinist Molly Cockburn.  Musical productions were overamplified, and we had to walk out in order to save our hearing.

Dining room the first day was too unorganized.  Too few people first day at customer service desk resulted in long line.

Liked the view from the elevators.  Food in dining room was sometimes not exactly what it purported to be.  Service in dining room was excellent as in stateroom.

Serenade Not Up To RC Standards by Cruiser39188933

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Having sailed Royal Caribbean in the past, I feel the Serenade of the Seas is found to be lacking in a number of ways. Most of the issues are with the service. Although almost all of the crew I encountered were pleasant, the actual service was below RC standards. I saw my cabin attendant twice on an 8 day cruise. Delivery of clean glasses and bath products were sketchy. In the dining room, it appeared the waiters were overwhelmed and had too many tables to serve. The wine steward was nowhere to be seen most of the time. It didn't help that this appeared to be a "training" cruise for a lot of the crew. Also, the tables were so crowded together one could barely maneuver getting to your table.

I would say two of the nights had entertainment that would be considered quite good.

Norway Cruise by Cruiser88369045

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The Ports of Call were my favorite part of the cruise.  The ship was very clean.  The wait staff in the main dining were wonderful.  I did not like all the "special events" -spa info, good feet, art auction--felt like it was used car salespeople trying to rip me off!

Another great cruise on RCCL by ab5967477

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

This was another great cruise on RCCL.

Best part was St. Petersburg in Russia.

The A la carte restaurants were great, we eat 5 days in those. The food in Izumi was great, but the ambiance of this restaurant feels like a cafeteria. The ambiance in this restaurant needs to change, but the food was perfect.

Outstanding Experience by Cruiser13511416

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

This was our first cruise and our expectations were exceeded at every stage. The serice by the staff in the dining room was exceptional and the food and menu were terrific. The shore excursions were well done by professionals and the ship reacted to a cancelled port in an extremely efficient manner. All in all, a wonderful experience.
