Review summary

Having sailed Royal Caribbean in the past, I feel the Serenade of the Seas is found to be lacking in a number of ways. Most of the issues are with the service. Although almost all of the crew I encountered were pleasant, the actual service was below RC standards. I saw my cabin attendant twice on an 8 day cruise. Delivery of clean glasses and bath products were sketchy. In the dining room, it appeared the waiters were overwhelmed and had too many tables to serve. The wine steward was nowhere to be seen most of the time. It didn't help that this appeared to be a "training" cruise for a lot of the crew. Also, the tables were so crowded together one could barely maneuver getting to your table.

I would say two of the nights had entertainment that would be considered quite good.

I'm sure we will see the older ships leave the fleet because everything is bigger and better. They still have galley kitchens because of space. We felt like it was a training ship also, but remember the staff has to train somewhere. Being kind helps everyone, talking to staff is awesome, history lesson of their home countries. We always try to chat with as many as possible. Even better if you have

We have been on this ship and other RCL ships never encountered what you people are saying

It's going to get worse cause I just read bookings are down and there are 65 new ships coming on line for various cruise companies. Only good thing is they're going to have to reduce pricing

We just experienced this on the Majesty. Our poor wait staff had too many tables. We could not get a conversation we them. They were moving so fast to take our orders and get our food back to us.

This is a Royal problem and not isolated to one ship. Not sure why Royal is cutting back on staff since we pay their salaries thru gratuities but the passengers are complaining and many of the staff aren't returning due to the working conditions. They better wake up
