Great Satisfaction by TolenasOnTheGo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

I would recommend to all fun loving vacationers out there to take a cruise ship for your vacation next time you want a real vacation. Its a very  fantastic way of just having a good time from busy day schedule when at home and/or office. The in house entertainment is gorgeous, the food is excellent and the service is welcoming. No worry about where to go, calling a taxi, or anything to spoil your day of excitement. Sleeping quarter or suite is clean, well taken cared out by on duty maid servant, bed is made and linen and towels are changed when you want it. Its worth the price you paid for the whole trip. Lots of activities to chose from. What you need is more than 24 hours in a given day if you want all of it between waking up and going to bed.My wife and I travels just the two of us, no children. But there are activities for children. So its for family too.

16 Night Transatlantic Eastbound Royal Caribbean by ileanareyeswyld

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

The Serenade of the Seas from Royal Caribbean NEEDS URGENT REFURBISHING!! The cabin was very small, there was mold on the shower, the sofa was small ,soggy and frayed. The Windows on the balcony very dirty. Most of the social areas were OK but old.The cleaning was not the best.I will not book a cruise in this boat until is updated.

Good ports, average food by bobarlyce

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

The ports were good and Royal did a good job of getting us into another port (Dover, England) when there was a strike in France. The food was average, not very good. The service was average to poor, they seemed to be short handed. The tours were priced a little high and there was no shore ambassador on the ship to ask question which we have on other cruise lines,  The shows on the ship were good although the show times were very bad. Would not recommend Royal Caribbean to others.

Eastbound Transatlantic Cruise by jmcmullan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

Overall a very good cruise.  The cabin was sufficient, but the bathroom sink did not always have hot water.  The shower was fine and the cabin attendant excellent.  The entertainment was good and the bar staff superb.  The itinerary was very nice, except we were not able to go to Le Havre (due to dock workers on strike).  Dover, however, was a great substitute.

Bland food, mediocre entertainment, inattention to serivice by stephanim32345

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

6 time cruiser; been aboard Norwegian (good), Royal Caribbean, and Carnival (very good).  The Serenade wasn't a bad ship or unclean, but the food was cafeteria quality at best.  (You'll need a lot of salt and ketchup!)  The entertainment was basically the same show with some variation night after night.  The guest service was inattentive to the point that just stopped asking for an extension chord for our stateroom and eventually canceled a plate of chocolate dipped strawberries that I had pre-ordered to be in our room when we arrived but wasn't there (canceled on the third day after begging for them!)

Been on 2 Royal Caribbean ships but won't be on a third.  Norwegian I would do again but by far my most satisfactory cruises have been on Carnival ships.

Spring Break Southern Caribbean Style by thompm16

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

My favorite part of the cruise was the shore excursions. The dolphin swim was the best part of all. I've been telling all my friends and coworkers about the trip since I've been back. I have and will continue to recommend this cruise to everyone that I know.

Serenade of the Seas March 17 2017 by kelly3719810437

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Food was good, bartenders were great, Southern Ports were really great to see favorite excursion was the river tubing in Dominica, also loved the beach break at Orient Beach on St Martin

DO NOT BOOK 7640 ABOVE THE PIANO BAR ON DECK 7 UNLESS YOU ARE DEAF!

On and off microphone enhanced piano, crooner and commentary to 2 am. That was the only bad thing but it was every night for 10 nights.  Complained to the front desk asked to be moved and they said no rooms were open which was not true they kicked a couple off at the first port and moved someone else into that room on the 8th floor next to some of our friends. Pretty disappointed with the front desk. Booked through Delta and think that their agent should have known about the room issues, complained to them and was told they couldn't help,  No miles credit either yet,  still trying to get them to credit that.

This was a very enjoyable cruise. by sonshine947

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We had a great time.  The food was very good.  There was a good variety except for breakfast.  I am not sure how that can be changed as there is not that much that can be changed.  The staff was always looking for ways to make our trip more enjoyable.  We enjoyed the excursions we booked through the ship.  The description the ship offered was accurate so we knew what we were going to experience.

I was not pleased that we were charged $13.50 per day in tips.  I prefer to reward those that gave me service.  I understand the reason behind it, but I feel that for an inside cabin on the lower floor it is too much. It also seemed that they were charging for things that before were free or at a much lower cost.

Enjoyable cruise by EWPILOT

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was an enjoyable cruise.  Our first 10 day cruise.  We found it very relaxing with a great balance of days at sea and ports of calls with excursions.  Overall the onboard staff was great. Being a 10 day cruise the clientele was a little older and the activity in the bars and clubs in the evening was very light on this cruise.  It seemed like a great time of year to go.  The weather was nice and sunny most days and not too hot.  We will probably do another 10 day cruise in the future.

Old ship old guests by lildeb412

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Next cruise staff was very rude and unprofessional then spoke with daniel the next day and he was professional but failed to inform us our reservations went to a third party and he did not try to do anything above and beyond to keep our business. Food is very bland no seasoning...need more younger geared activities. Activities were geared toward the 70 year old crowds. Wait staff and room stewards did an amazing job. Jason morgan in the pool bar is an amazing addition to your company very friendly great customer service. Would live someone to contact ke in regards to this review..i then called royal the day we got off the ship to check my next cruise reservations and was on the phone for an hour and 15 mins trying to get it in order...lack of knowledge on royals staff... plz contact me asap thanks Deb

Overall everything was great. by dellesabeckford

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The Islands were great, we like all of the islands. They were all so close to everything, shopping, beaches. We also did a few tours on land and on sea. We looked forward to  Showtime, in the theatre. We also enjoyed the movies. The food was excellent, with many choices, and the service was exceptional. We looked forward to doing this cruise again soon. my roommate Josephine, said that

she wish she could just turn around, and go right back on the ship.

Cruise review by lltooks

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The cruise was great!

The only negative is that the first few days we experienced a lot of turbulence on the water and that caused the ship to move a lot and cause motion sickness within our group. It did not affect me personally with the exception of continuous walking and wobbling!

SOS by lkerney

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ports that we stopped at were impressive.  The crew was great...The ship is starting to show age.  I was VERY disappointed that there was no acrobat performances in the Centrum.   A must for a ship of that size.

At sea - Great! Portside - not so much! by lotus7t

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The cruise itself was well above average with great food, good entertainment and a crew, from the Master/Captain through every member we encountered, outgoing, helpful and extremely friendly. Could not find fault anywhere. But then there was the port-side operations. Embarking, there was a problem with the generation of the photo element of the sea pass cards which resulted in a long line (and delay) waiting to have each passenger's picture taken. Then at debarkation, my bags were finally delivered nearly an hour after the scheduled time (and my wife's) which was bad enough but worse, it gave me time to watch how the baggage "handlers" treated the bags coming off of the karts used to move the bags from the ship to the baggage retrieval area. Bags were pulled off the top of the karts and allowed to drop on the floor with no regard as to contents. I was not the only one to have bags delivered (or lost) so this is apparently not an isolated incident. But all-in-all I would do it again but hopefully not from this port.

Long cruise by CruiseAddict7

Most of the service was excellent.   Our stateroom attendant, Mibin Mohan, was very helpful and pleasant to work with.  Our waiter, Jithendra Kotian, was the best ever. I looked forward to dinned every nite.   I tell all of the great experiences I have with Royal Caribbean.   They are the best!!!

You can't beat the prices from by MikeN3276

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

While on board our Royal Caribbean cruise, we witnessed them offering 60% off future cruises if you booked while at sea.  Compared to the price we paid with all the extra credits, a specialty dinner and other benefits...travel agent gives a much better deal!

The ship itself was very nice with an attentive crew. The ports were great because some of them were the less visited and not over touristed with four ships arriving the same day over running a small island.  It was a very enjoyable cruise.

just the right size ship by gizreh

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Royal Caribbean Radiance class ships like the Seranade are just the right size, not too big and you have wonderful views of the ocean.   The entertainment is good, especially the production shows.   We prefer to eat in the windjammer buffet over the dining room, because there is such a good variety of food.    The dining room is fine for those who like dining rooms.

OK, Not what I expected from RCL by rollisor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The pillows were awful, gave us both headaches.  The beef was gelatinous most of the time.  Food was good but not great.  The "My Time" dining was a joke.  Had to wait after reservations first two nights.  Then couldn't make a reservation between 6 and 7PM.

Ship was 14 years old and showed it.  The design of the ship, primarily the Centrum was limited.  It was too small to hold all the passengers that wanted to be at the bar and see entertainment.  This was my third RCL cruise.  Their standards have slipped over the years.
