Review summary

The cruise itself was well above average with great food, good entertainment and a crew, from the Master/Captain through every member we encountered, outgoing, helpful and extremely friendly. Could not find fault anywhere. But then there was the port-side operations. Embarking, there was a problem with the generation of the photo element of the sea pass cards which resulted in a long line (and delay) waiting to have each passenger's picture taken. Then at debarkation, my bags were finally delivered nearly an hour after the scheduled time (and my wife's) which was bad enough but worse, it gave me time to watch how the baggage "handlers" treated the bags coming off of the karts used to move the bags from the ship to the baggage retrieval area. Bags were pulled off the top of the karts and allowed to drop on the floor with no regard as to contents. I was not the only one to have bags delivered (or lost) so this is apparently not an isolated incident. But all-in-all I would do it again but hopefully not from this port.

Fort Lauderdale. We're debating on whether to cancel our cruise out of there next Jan. If we do decide to go, we'll definitely carry our own luggage off. Our last 2 cruises (Dec & earlier this month) had lost luggage & I also saw bags slammed to the ground. Smooth embarkation but chaotic debarkation. That leaves a bad last impression!

Next time leave your bags in your room and carry them off yourself. That is what we do.
