Review summary

We enjoyed celebrating our 21st anniversary on this cruise. We met great people and made some friendships on this cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The International Cafe and Good Spirits are amazing. Crown Grill was exceptional. The Main Dining Room was good with a variety. Buffet, we tried it once and did not return, as we were disappointed in the buffet.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Very minimal activites on the Ruby Princess.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The stage shows were good, but not like other cruises we have taken. The Skywalker lounge did not have music every night and when they did the DJ played a strange mix of music. The princess band is amazing.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our steward Michael Mejia was fantastic. Flor and Flynn at Good Spirits are amazing. Danesh and Shenish at International Cafe and Good Spirits are the best coffee makers. Raquel and her assistant were our dinner server in Michaelangelos was a joy and excellent server. SamKelo was the assistant on other nights we dined in Michaelangelos and he has a great personality and was great joy.

Ship tip

The medallion app does not always work, so try not to get frustrated over it.

Ports of call

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

3 out of 5
Although we had a nice time at this port, there is not much to see and do. It is beautiful countryside. We did the gondola and zipline.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
We loved Juneau. The mendanhall glacier is a must.

Cruise Glacier Bay

Amazing and Breathtaking

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Cute town, nice to walk around. Too many jewelry shops - avoid them!

Prince Rupert, British Columbia

3 out of 5
Cute town and enjoyed our hike. But really not a great port stop.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Our disembarkation was fine. But it is sad that everyone becomes a different person/personality and loose their coureousness once we are finished with the cruise. (I mean fellow passnegers not the crew)

Glad you had fun. Buffets are always hit and miss since the dishes change daily. I may be disappointed on day and love it the next. My last Princess cruise the buffet got better toward the end. Fillet mignon for lunch several days in the buffet.
