Review summary

Overall we had an amazing time on this cruise! I had debated this one with the Tracy Arm Fjord and am so glad we chose this one! Glacier Bay was the star of the show and worth the price of admission. I have never experienced anything so awe inspiring. See cabin pictures. So serene so beautiful. I was so glad thankful to share this experience with my Mom who just turned 75.

Embarkation

This was my very first cruise and really had no idea what to expect or what to do!! There was always someone there to guide us and answer questions. Very well organized and executed

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
There were a wide array of dining options. We had chosen anytime dining instead of the traditional seatings. I had read about prior complaints of wait time, but we experienced none. We were always given the option of dining just the two of us or first available at a table with others. It was fun sitting and meeting others but nice to sit by ourselves when we wanted too. Dining rooms were more fancy, buffet more casual. Both had variety of options to appeal to all. Service was always spectacular. Professional and courteous.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Everyday the Princess Patter was waiting for us to let us know of all the activities that were taking place on board. Yes, there was a lot of upselling activities but there were also a good combination of lectures and fun activities. Also just sitting in the Piazza was relaxing.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Comedian Steve Caouette was hysterical and the Voice was entertaining. Production show was ok... but I'm really not a fan of musicals.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every last person that we dealt with from Princess was friendly, courteous, professional and very helpful... from our room steward to the wait staff.. everyone!

Ship Quality

No complaints.

Cabin / Stateroom

We stayed in a balcony room which I highly recommend especially for Alaskan cruise - so much to see! Bathroom was small but to be expected Pictures are of our amazing views in Glacier Bay

Ship tip

Bring a power strip - only one outlet in room. Cell coverage and internet spotty (and expensive) but it was kind of nice to be out of touch with reality

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington Did not visit port

Juneau, Alaska

Did the Glacier garden and Mendenhall Glacier tour. Our driver Sydney was awesome.. informed and entertaining. Probably my favorite port of call.. Added pics of Glacier Bay as well

Skagway, Alaska

Took motor coach ride up the mountain to Yukon and the White Pass Rail down - in a word, spectacular. Scenic, wildlife... provided lunch - ehh... But overall amazing. We booked all excursions ahead of time through Princess. It was nice to have it all planned out in advanced. They were very organized every step of the way from disembarking to finding our tour. Everything was spelled out in advance (physical capabilities needed etc)

Ketchikan, Alaska

Not enough time here!!! Arrived very early and left by noon. We booked a Misty Fjords and wilderness cruise.. it was disappointing and I think the most expensive if the excursions. It was ok, not the wildlife cruise that I had expected. Probably would have enjoyed spending the limited time exploring the town.

Victoria, British Columbia

Again very limited time here. We arrived after 7pm. We were able to tour the beautiful grounds of the Buchart Gardens but would have liked to be able to spend some time exploring this quaint city.

Disembarkation

Extremely organized and easy. We did the option of port valet and did not have to worry about luggage. They picked up our luggage the night before and dropped off our boarding passes... made life very easy.

We did it first also, and did Tracy Arm Fjord on our second cruise to Alaska... you will love it to! Now you have an excuse to go again! The 'call of the wild' is calling you. We look forward to our next cruise to Alaska.
