Review summary

Overall, we LOVED our cruise. The only negative we felt we experienced was a little bit of harassment to sign up for a beverage package that first day and when my husband and I said no thank you, we got a few looks and then felt as if we were ignored some of the time because of it. For us, we don't drink enough outside of water to have made it feasible to have a drink package and just ordered drinks individually if we did decide to indulge in something else. That definitely did not make us feel good initially, but as we moved through our cruise our wait staff was attentive and friendly, as was our room steward. They all did a great job!

Embarkation

We moved quickly through all of the lines to board the ship, had no difficulties with boarding or our room. I loved the music and festivities that ensued, such a wonderful start to the trip.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
This was our first cruise, so we were surprised about the drink packages and the cost. Otherwise, our dining rooms and buffets were absolutely wonderful! Our wait staff was attentive and made sure we were taken care of, and the food was always delicious.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I utilized the fitness center and my husband went to the casino. I did Zumba one day as well! Overall, we really enjoyed the opportunities on board.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Unfortunately, we had the late sit down dining so we missed some of the cool games (we caught a little bit of yes/no and the end of the marriage game), and I was really bummed as those were so fun! Otherwise, we did attend some of the shows (Magic To Do, AJ - comedian) that were fantastic.

Children's Programs

I don't have children, nor am I one.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They were all so wonderful! They made sure we were taken care of every single night and I saw many people that were helpful to others as well (getting them places when they were lost).

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It's HUGE! Being our first cruise, I was overwhelmed with how big it was and found myself losing my way a time or two, but I figured it out the second day in and it was all good!

Cabin / Stateroom

We will never cruise without a balcony! What a beautiful experience to wake up every morning and see the Alaskan landscape. It was incredible, and we will most certainly do that again. The size was small, but I did not expect much larger because of the need to get so many people on board. Our bed was AMAZING. It was so comfortable, I fell asleep immediately every time I laid down.

Ship tip

Get to know the layout and don't be afraid to ask. Most people are always willing to help. Go to the game shows if you can, they are so fun!

Ports of call

No excursions, we were there prior to embarking for a few days. If we could move to Seattle tomorrow, I would. I loved everything about the city.

Juneau, Alaska

We did the whale watch and Mendenhall glacier tour. It was incredible!

Skagway, Alaska

Mushers Camp!! I highly recommend this one, it was our favorite excursion to see the dogs and new puppies and get to know the background of the sport.

Ketchikan, Alaska

I wish we had more time here. I understand why, but our excursion (Wildlife experience and crab feast - also highly recommend) took up 4 of the 5 hours we were there so unfortunately we did not get to walk around town as much as I would have really liked. It was beautiful there!

Victoria, British Columbia

Beautiful city. We want to go back and stay for a few days to explore some more. We did the Breweries tour which was incredible! Our tour guides were so well informed and made it a wonderful experience.

Fast, smooth and on time. We got to the airport with a Princess transfer in plenty of time, and appreciate the willingness of the Princess staff to help with questions.

I was also thinking of just doing the drinks individually. How much are sodas and hot cocoa?

Tb. Unfortunately they can get a little aggressive with their sales presentations the worst are in photography you just have to learn to say no. be sure to let your feelings be known when you fill out the questionnaire that they email you after the cruise.
