a perfect cruise by DebrahR

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

this was my 8th cruise and my hunband's first. I have cruised on this same ship before and it is a beautiful ship. everyting was wonderful except for the uncomfortable bed. The shows were fantastic and there was so much to do that we could not physically do all we wanted to do. My new husband loved it and was very excited and pleased. you have made a cruiser out of him. We will definattly be back next wear. The food was fabulous. It met every need.

A disappointing cruise by MarcieH1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very disappointing. I have been on other cruise lines and I was looking forward to try this one. It was rated 4 stars which I find hard to believe. The ship is dirty and not kept up. The majority of the staff are rude and unwilling to help. My stateroom was dirty when I got on the ship and it was never properly cleaned the whole time. The bright spot of the cruise was the entertainment at night.

Our 40th Anniversary was Wonderful by KarlaA2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first cruise and we were so pleased we were ready to stay on board for another 7 days. Our room was a jr. suite, which we loved as we did spend time in our cabin and watched the sunsets from our balcony. We also had breakfast served in our room a couple of times so we could enjoy the sunrises. The activities that were available were varied for all tastes. We enjoyed the games like Name that Tune, the wonderful music throughout the ship, and surprisingly the shopping. I wish I had purchased more on the ship but I waited for the Ports of Call and missed out on some bargains on the ship. I was disappointed in the coupon booklet I purchased and won't do that again. I also wish I had taken advantage of more excursions as we were lost when we were on our own and feel we missed a lot of adventures by doing so. We loved the shows and would have viewed more had we chosen an earlier seating time. All in all the Royal Carribean Cruise was one of the highlights in our vacationing experiences and I am anxious to go again.

Great time of relaxing by LolaA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was beautiful. This was my third cruise on RCCL. It exceeded my expectations. We had a group of 7 people in 3 rooms and we very much enjoyed Cozumel. Although the muster was HORRIBLE, I know it was necessary, but it was so very hot. They should have suggested you bring towels to dry the perspiration off your brows. The scenery was fantastic. We very much took advantage of the food, shows, games and activities on board the ship as well as 3 excursions. Can't wait to save up enough money to do it again. Thanks for a wonderful vacation.

A great vacation! by Steveh111

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Dinner was always excellent. We stayed on deck two and had a large window which was neat as the morning light would wake you if you wanted it to. It is also possible to have the curtains closed if you are hung over from partying the night before. The crew on the ship was always friendly and treated us like royalty. The excursions on shore were a blast both Dunns river fall and Stingray snorkel and swim were great.

A Wonderful Cruise by KathyS14

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Due to hurrican Ernesto, it was necessary to change our itinerary at the last moment, but we were still able to have a wonderful time. Even though we weren't able to make our original ports we had incredibly wonderful weather the entire trip. The ship was very clean and the entire crew was friendly. The entire experience was great!

The ship was beautiful. All staff were attentive to the needs of those on board and offered assistance. The activities staff were outstanding and provided well rounded activities throughout the week. Kudos to them for organization and whit! The entertainment was top knotch and professional by well known headliners and the Cruise orchestra and singers were EXCELLENT. As a first timer, my husband and I will definitely cruise again and bring other friends and family along for the fun.

"Great Times!" by CeciliaG2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our first impression was wow! This was our first cruise so we were a little intimidated on what to expect. But since we first got to the airport and got our transfer to the port all the staff was great our nerves eased a little and even more when we arrived to the cruise ship we started to relax, when we had questions there was always someone we could ask. We felt just like we were at home so much that we did not even feel the days pass us by.

I thought the ship would look more up to date. It looked old and in need of a good paint job and modernization.

A celebration cruise (Anniv/Bdays) by LizH2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My husband and I along with our 13 yr. old daughter and her friend thoroughly enjoyed our cruise. We took a 7 day vacation and came back very relaxed and rested. Because you asked, the things we enjoyed were: the elegance of the ship, the roominess of the staterooms, and fewer young children, a more self-controlled group of guest--no ludeness and profanity ever that we saw. The areas for improvement I would suggest (because you asked ) would be: to encourage ALL crew members to be friendly and talkative. The head waiters and cabin attendants seemed to be focused on relationship building and were very helpful. Most others were helpful but only spoke if spoken to and didn't make conversation etc...some may think them unfriendly for that reason. We asked for adjoining rooms and were told that they didn't have them on this ship and found out from people we met on board that they did in fact have adjoining rooms. The most disappointing thing to us was the huge push on board for shopping. Shopping and sales on board the ship, several meetings to discuss sholpping at each port etc. Many people remarked about it. Most people wanted to know more about the islands or just relax. Repeat cruisers commented that it was very hook line and sinker but you learn after the first cruise. We had an awesome time. We certainly didn't go to buy jewelry, t-shirts and art---however, we did in fact end up with some! Honestly, it is a well run, clean ship with very experienced and knowledgeable crew members. It would enhance the experience for vacationers I think if the shopping push lessened, talk of the ports increased, and the crew members were encouraged to be friendly and do some random and unexpected things. My husband and I were in airline business for many years, and it is somewhat comparable when looking at needs and service etc. It would be nice for the guests if vendors could package alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for a captrive audience like that. Something similar to the soda drink cards. I just can't see that the average person could spend an average of $5.00 a drink for several drinks a day for seven days. The cruise price is worth it, but it is pricey and many couldn't afford the extra costs attached. This was our third cruise and we intend to cruise again. We even purchased a Visa card to earn rewards for Royal Carribean. Thank you for asking our opinion. We ya again soon we hope.

Great time for all 5 of us by RussellT

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The food was excellent, and the excursions were great too. I wasnt crazy about Jamaica, but the Caymans and Cozumel were very good. The unlimited Coke card is well worth it for kids. The adult only indoor pool with wireless internet was what I liked the most. And the evening meals were the bomb.

My kids had a ball, and so did I by CherylT9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our second cruise, Carnival last year. This ship was smaller and I really liked that about it. I didnt get lost like I did on the other one. The adult only pool was indoor and really nice. We could never do the rock wall though, either too windy or too many people signed up.
