Review summary

A great itinerary starting in Venice and ending up in Barcelona with just 2 sea days which were used to rest from the port intensive cruise. The food was fine with some meals being better than the others, but all were fine.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Drop off of luggage was easy and the check-in process took maybe 10 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food in the Windjammer and MDR was fine and allowed us the opportunity to try different dishes and cuisines.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We didn't use the pools or rock climbing walls, but visited the casino several times.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Most shows were great, the second production show "Country" seemed a little repetitive in the numbers and dances.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Very attentive wait staff in both the Windjammer and MDR.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship being one of the smaller RCI ships is very easy to navigate. Every thing was clean and presentable.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The JS was roomy and the steward keep it clean and well stocked. The location near the elevators and Centrum was not a problem since they closed the interim doors. There was some loud rolling noise from the automatic door on deck 9 which was above the room.

Ship tip

Check the itineraries since you may not be on board as much and onboard activities may not matter.

Ports of call

Venice, Italy

5 out of 5
Must see for both beauty and engineering marvels.

Kotor, Montenegro

5 out of 5
Unique entre into the tethered port and great views from many sites. Take a tour with Milo for personalized agenda and insight.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

5 out of 5
Nice old town with interesting sights. Took RCL excursion which was supposed to be 3+ hours but include 90 minutes of free time before returning to ship.

Naples, Italy

5 out of 5
Interesting history and sights, took Hop on Hop off bus in visited Architectural museum and church of San Gennaro.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
Great stop with many landmarks to see. Took small van tour with Italytours.eu and had both a great driver and Vatican tour guide. This tour picks you up at the ship and not at the downtown bus area. This saved us an additional hour to see the sights. We had time and tickets to go in both the Coliseum and the Vatican, plus have lunch.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

4 out of 5
Took HOHO bus here also but was limited due to recent Sept flood which destroyed property and killed 8 people. The downtown area is still interested with many shops and a small canal system.

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
There are many great sites to visit and places to eat. Didn't this time, but HOHO bus is the way to go.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We were off the ship and in a cab within 30 minutes.
