Fun Cruise but small ship by gemstar554

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas

Cruise was fun but will look for larger ships in the future. This one had nice art work throughout and is dated but maintenance well and service was good.

What a Difference a Few Months Makes by CruiseJEM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas

Weather was perfect and it was great to get away. Aside from a few hiccups, we had a good cruise. We sailed this ship in the summer on our trip to Alaska and the service really declined from then, so I hope it improves for future cruisers on this ship.

Should have stayed home. by 79Ranchero

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cabin and ship facilities were OK. The dining room staff was very good and the food was mostly good. There was no music entertainment during the day and not very good or many options at night. The main stage shows that I saw (2) were not good. The boarding and dis-embarkment was slow and lengthy. The port facilities were to small and over crowded and the staff was not helpful. Ship app and free wi-fi was not good and mostly unavailable. Guest services provided incorrect information more than twice which created problems and confusion.

Not the best experience by petestexasgirl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Radiance of the Seas

The ship needs to be either retired or completely gutted. She is so tired and broken. It made me sad.

2nd Leg of Back-to-Back by willwork4cruz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I gave a detailed review for my first week of this back-to-back cruise so I will stick to unique things for this leg. Overall was better than first week. Maybe because my expectations were lower and I knew what was good or not good. A good overall cruise but many things that RC could easily improve with little effort. I don't know if they just rest on their "Loyal" base but other lines are stepping it up and Royal needs to catch up.

Great first time on a cruise by dominique2568

The staff were friendly and helpful. Our dinner experience in the main dining room was wonderful because of Oliver, Romeo and Raymond. Anyone who gets them will be extremely pleased!!!

First Royal Caribbean Cruise by willwork4cruz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I did have a great cruise and enjoyed my first Royal cruise. However, I learned that the food on Royal was definitely not up to par with other lines I have been on. I am taking some other lines in the near future and will comment if that is still the case or not. The activities for a destination location like Alaska were unimaginative and much less than they could have been. I will sail on Royal again, but the price and itinerary would need to be better than the others.

Do not stay in room 9654 No Hot Water by Ed44

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Seemed like more instant potato’s and dry bland rice like trying to cut costs. Desserts seemed like a lot of pudding type desserts not up to Royal Caribean previous cruise and no hot water or anyone really caring that we had no hot water makes me think about using Royal Caribean for our next cruise.

Good cruise despite the weather. by CruiseJEM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas

Alaska was very cold and very wet. It was beautiful to see and experience, but will not return. Once was enough for me. Alaska was very isolated and although the people were nice, most of our tour guides were people not from Alaska, which was disappointing. I didn’t care for the feeling of being constantly isolated from the rest of the world. It’s worth seeing once in your lifetime, but like I said once was enough for me. Despite the weather being ugly, I did enjoy my vacation as did my teen sons and husband.

Great but found food quality and options lacking, especially compared to other Royal Caribbean cruise ships. by Jedi03

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Overall we are pretty easy to please. However there are few things I didn't like on Radiance of the Seas, which was the food and options in the Main Dining Room and Wind Jammer. The food in the Wind Jammer that should have been hot was either cold or luke warm. I saw too many guests on this particular ship that cross contaminated the food either with their fingers or using the same utensil in a shellfish and a non-shellfish dish. When you have a sever shellfish allergy, eating in the Wind Jammer made me too nervous. No mexican speciality restaraunt, which would have been preferred for lunch. Wind Jammer on this ship had limited gluten free options that didn't contain shellfish. The gluten free bread on this ship is the worst I've ever tasted too. Service in the main dining room was great except for the night, which was my birthday. The service just totatlly fell apart that night. Not sure if our server was nervious because it was lobster night and I have a severe shellfish allergy but we were totally forgotten. Like obvious forgotten. I waited for more than 20 minutes for a wine list and had to remind the assistant I was still waiting on wine menu when asking if I wanted to order a drink. I never got to dessert as it was apparent that they had too much going on to give us any type of attentive service. The friends we made at the tables next to ours couldn't believe why we were overlooked that night. Food review again! The Solarium Pool Cafe doesn't compare to other RC ships for service and food options, especially for a late night snack. We stopped by for pizza each night around 11:00pm. To my surprise, when we asked if we could wait for a slice of pepperoni pizza this some how was the wrong thing to ask as she kept asking if we'd like a piece of salami pizza. When we explained we'd like to wait for a slice of pepperoni pizza, she stated the cook doesn't make pepperoni this late at night. What??? Who ever heard of making salami pizza only after 11:00pm. I guess it's a way not to have to keep busy cooking or serving guests. Overall, I would rated Radiance of the Seas as a 3.5 or 4.0 star. I'm a foodie and one with allergies. If the food is supposed to served hot, I want it served at least warm instead of cold. The server and pizza options at Solarium Pool Cafe is the reason for less than 5 star rating.

Southbound Alaskan by SouthTownPastor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas

We had a great and relaxing time. Wish there would have been a bit more going on other than just live music (which we enjoy) or dancing (which we don’t). Other than that, we’d definitely do this cruise again.
