Good cruise but have been on better by MaryF12

Sail date: /
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was nice but a bit on the smaller side compared to other ships in this cruise line and other lines. Smaller shopping area on board but loved their "Every item is $10" section.

A super, wonderful cruise by FrancineE

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first cruise and we loved every minute of it. It is so beautifully decorated. The service was superb. Our waiters Rathan and Franklin, were so kind and friendly. Our cabin attendant took wonderful care of all of our needs and even beyond our needs. He took extra care in pleasing us.Everyone was wonderful. I can't wait to take another cruise and yes, I would go on the Radiance again.

Only regret "We had to go home" by Amandab11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This is our second cruise on the Radiance of the Seas. The first was only my husband & I. This one we brought our two boys ages 13 & 15. It was a blast! Everyone was very helpful with our questions. The Cruise Compass that they delivered to our staterooms each night about the next port, was very informative. It had the dock time, weather, deck to disembark, the stores the ship guarantees friendly service, maps, a short review of facts about the port and everything else to do onboard the ship. I hate to say that we never made it to the main dining room this time. We ate at the Windjammer Cafe, the Seaview Cafe and Chops Grille. The Windjammer always had many choices. Between the four of us we had Chinese, Burgers, pizza, fish and pasta, all for dinner. While we were waiting for our reservation time at Chops, we all enjoyed a drink (virgin for the boys) at Schooner Bar & the staff there was friendly and fun to converse with. She paid attention to the boys & asked them questions about their day & their cruise experience. She got those clams to open up and give details! That is a feat in itself! We ate at Chops twice, once on the 15th & again on the 18th. The food was excellent! I hate to say it, but when I shop for cruises, I only go on ones with Chops Grille. We had the same waitress both nights. She remembered what our likes & dislikes were, what we ordered & also both of the shore excursions we did on the 15th, along with details! Talk about Customer service. Our shore excursions that we purchased thru the website before we left were all very well organized and well worth the money. We always had free transportation to and from the ship. We brought along our cameras, but we did not have to use them very much, almost all of the shore excursions had someone taking video and/or pictures of us. That way, we all four could be in them. Some of the excursion staff delivered the disks to the ship for us as well! Guest Relations made sure that the disks were in our staterooms after dinner. We had two balcony staterooms next door to each other. The boys were in one room (as long as they are right next door, it is allowed to let two minors have a room to themselves). Both rooms were made up as one queen, we asked our stateroom attendant to change the bed in the boys' room to two beds & it was done within 15 minutes! The boys were always intrigued to see what the towel sculpture was going to be when we returned to our rooms! This was the best family vacation with the most diverse & memorable experiences that we had ever had!

A relaxing cruise by MarshaF

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall, the conditions on the ship were fine. Our bathroom (and heard comments from several other passengers about the same problem) smelled like a latrine. The smell was so bad at times it was hard to spend any time at all in the bathroom. This problem, while brought up to our steward, was never adequately addressed. This was our third Royal Caribbean cruise and we found that the quality of the food was not up to the standards we have come to expect from Royal Caribbean. Also, this was the first cruise we have been on that ran out of food items like 2% milk, yogurt, pina colada mix (these are the things I am aware of). We would not book a trip again on this ship. We were impressed by the measures taken by the ship to battle the spread of infectious illnesses with the use of sanitary wipes. They were present in all the dining rooms (and handed out) and at the gangplank when returning from ports of call. I also noticed housekeeping wiping down handrails.

second tme around by ValA

Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Second time cruising on this ship. The Food was superior to most other ships I have been on. Dining Room excellent and buffets had large variety. Entertainment was not what I expected. One good comedy night the rest of the nights I felt as thou I was at a high school variety show. Cleanliness of the ship was good. Service as with all Royal Caribbean very nice. Our weather was not so good and tendering in and out of some ports a total nightmare. No matter how long the lines were and cancellations, people were still enjoying themselves and happy.

Fabulous First Cruise by JoanM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This ship had the best experience for a first-time traveler on the ocean or gulf. Everyone of the staff were pleasant and helpful. I particularly enjoyed the shows as much as the creations that were made from towels every day and placed on the bed.

Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We were very impressed with the stateroom for wheel chair disabled passengers. Even the closet was roll-in. Excellent bathroom, huge balcony, we could not have been happier with the arrangements. We had room service for breakfast which arrived on time each day and was delicious. Service was excellent; room attentant absolutely the best. We will definitely do this cruise again.

Thanks Western Caribbean Cruise 07 by AngL1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Radiance of the Seas is a smaller ship compared to the other RCCL ships I've been on. Small isn't bad, I think the only bad thing of this cruise was the dinner service. I had really outstanding dinner service on the previous RCCL ships I've been on (Adventures and Explorer). Both waiters I had on those previous ships were very enthusiastic and entertaining every time I went to dinner. This waiter I had on Radiance was OK. He gave me the wrong dinner a couple of times and the dinner was either for the person next to me or I did not order that at all.

Not Bad-Not Great by JohnJ23

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Started out nice with quick boarding @ 1pm in Vancouver. Nice room at aft of ship. Bags arrived within minutes. Cruise wasn't bad just ho-hum. No energy from ships' crew or passagengers. Most cruises are a combination of newlyweds and nearly deads. I didn't see any newly weds on our cruise. Found out part way this was last Alaska cruise so I guess everyone was tired and waiting for new itinerary. Was imformed several times that the cruise was a training cruise for upcoming Asian boat and that's why we had so much trouble communication with wait staff. Getting off the boat was fast and easy as we did the carry off. Next time we will do the $20 send the bags ahead deal and get off early without luggage. Casino was frequently without any dealers even in the middle of the day. Golf and dart room was closed everytime we went to use it. Cinema was small but nice and showed good movies. Internet was frequently down for a day at a time. Did I have a bad time? No...but for the money I would rather be elsewhere

Great experience with cruise! by JohnA14

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Food at the dining facility was good however the menu stayed the same, to our surprise, during our 7-day cruise. Staff members were quite friendly and helpful. Fitness room was perfect. Daily activities were not too many. We expected some informative seminars on health, well-being, etc. One comedian would be sufficient (there were two). Singers and dancers were outstanding. Behind-the-scene opportunity explained by the performers was the first we had and enjoyed very much.

Alaska, ah, what a trip! by RaymondK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

We were pleased with our stateroom and the friendliness and courtesy of the staff. The food was O.K. but portions too small. Overall the quality of the food was just O.K., not excellent. Even though paying for the wifi access, I could not send e-mails and the tech support was not knowledgable enough to fix the problem.

Overall the ship was clean, well kept, plenty of staff to ensure everything was in it's place. Public places, such as bathrooms, were clean and litter free. Everything was found to be in good working order and staff was available to address questions and concerns at any time.

Right off the scale on my WOW meter! by LarryD6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Easily the best cruise ship I've been on. Crew, food, entertainment, shore excursions, and maintainance of the ship were second to none! I will become a walking billboard for Royal Caribbean with friends & family. This ship was so exceptional, we're definetely going to book our next cruise on The Radiance of the Seas for their upcoming cruise to South America.

A Fabulous Cruise! by KarenD12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Royal Caribbean and the Radiance of The Seas is THE BEST! We have cruised with an inferior company before a few times but we will NEVER go back to them after being treated like ROYALTY with this cruise line! Our Captain, the Cruise Director and the ship were all fabulous! The staff, the crew, everyone aboard was courteous and friendly and efficient. The shows every night were top notch and Broadway quality. Every convenience and affordable luxury was offered to us on board and at the ports of call. The Excursions were full of quality, wide-ranging and enjoyable. We will definitely cruise with RC again, and we've already recommended RC to all our family and friends!
