Review summary

Royal Caribbean and the Radiance of The Seas is THE BEST! We have cruised with an inferior company before a few times but we will NEVER go back to them after being treated like ROYALTY with this cruise line! Our Captain, the Cruise Director and the ship were all fabulous! The staff, the crew, everyone aboard was courteous and friendly and efficient. The shows every night were top notch and Broadway quality. Every convenience and affordable luxury was offered to us on board and at the ports of call. The Excursions were full of quality, wide-ranging and enjoyable. We will definitely cruise with RC again, and we've already recommended RC to all our family and friends!

Ports of call

Skagway, Alaska

We did the Jeep Excursion. While it was enjoyable, we hope they can find a closer route to take, rather than driving on the highway for 40 miles before going off-road. Although we did see some beautiful countryside, and the sign that states you are entering the Klondike, it would be advantagous to try to find a closer, off-road route to enjoy. The guides were a newly-wed couple who were precious!

We did the Salmon Bake. While the food was really good, the location was questionable as it sits just off the highway in back of warehouses and businesses. The only redeeming quality was the incredible waterfall at the end of the path that you can walk down. That waterfall was the high light of the Bake and honestly the most beautiful of any we saw! However, the bus driver that picked us up at the ship and delivered us back was great - he actually deviated from the route to take us over to Mt. McKinley (?) nearby to get a few shots! Probably even jeapordized his job to insure our experience was more pleasurable!

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

We experienced the typcial Alaska weather here! So we enjoyed it. You can tell Icy Strait has made improvements to be tourist friendly and it is appreciated. Then we rode the shuttle into town and walked around. It was THE place that we saw the most bald eagles and were able to take many pictures of them. A suggestion would be to encourage the people who live there to provide more restaurants for tourists to come in and eat, specifically local seafood. This will also provide shelter to come in from inclement weather.

Ketchikan, Alaska

This was our most enjoyable port of call! The Lumber Jack Show was quality entertainment! The hostess was engaging. The Lumber Jacks were handsome, capable men who also had a sense of humor and were entertaining! Afterward, all were willing to stand by and sign autographs and have their picture made with audience members!
Don't Miss: The LumberJack Show!
