Review summary
This is our second cruise on the Radiance of the Seas. The first was only my husband & I. This one we brought our two boys ages 13 & 15. It was a blast! Everyone was very helpful with our questions. The Cruise Compass that they delivered to our staterooms each night about the next port, was very informative. It had the dock time, weather, deck to disembark, the stores the ship guarantees friendly service, maps, a short review of facts about the port and everything else to do onboard the ship. I hate to say that we never made it to the main dining room this time. We ate at the Windjammer Cafe, the Seaview Cafe and Chops Grille. The Windjammer always had many choices. Between the four of us we had Chinese, Burgers, pizza, fish and pasta, all for dinner. While we were waiting for our reservation time at Chops, we all enjoyed a drink (virgin for the boys) at Schooner Bar & the staff there was friendly and fun to converse with. She paid attention to the boys & asked them questions about their day & their cruise experience. She got those clams to open up and give details! That is a feat in itself! We ate at Chops twice, once on the 15th & again on the 18th. The food was excellent! I hate to say it, but when I shop for cruises, I only go on ones with Chops Grille. We had the same waitress both nights. She remembered what our likes & dislikes were, what we ordered & also both of the shore excursions we did on the 15th, along with details! Talk about Customer service. Our shore excursions that we purchased thru the website before we left were all very well organized and well worth the money. We always had free transportation to and from the ship. We brought along our cameras, but we did not have to use them very much, almost all of the shore excursions had someone taking video and/or pictures of us. That way, we all four could be in them. Some of the excursion staff delivered the disks to the ship for us as well! Guest Relations made sure that the disks were in our staterooms after dinner. We had two balcony staterooms next door to each other. The boys were in one room (as long as they are right next door, it is allowed to let two minors have a room to themselves). Both rooms were made up as one queen, we asked our stateroom attendant to change the bed in the boys' room to two beds & it was done within 15 minutes! The boys were always intrigued to see what the towel sculpture was going to be when we returned to our rooms! This was the best family vacation with the most diverse & memorable experiences that we had ever had!Ship experiences
