Would not travel Royal Carbbean again by SheilaT1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was dirty on the upper decks, Teenagers running around in the dining areas and screaming, also they charge 3.95 for room service. the staff wasn't friendly in the buffet area. bingo was cancelled during the trip and not much to do on the ship...if you want excitment and fun this is the cruise line for you..try theother cruise line, you know "The fun ship". The quality of the food in the buffert areas is poor..hamburgers pre-cook and sitting under a light. Also we were treated like criminal because we had a bottle of wine in our bag. So we had to go to the bottom of the ship to retrive our bags because they would not deliver to our rooms. on other ship you can bring wine on board but not Royal caribbean......Would not travel Royal caribbean ever again..big mistake..many people on-board were un-happy

Bargain 5 night cruise by MichaelP11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Radiance is showing her age, but is still a nice vessel. Usual amenities. Very similar to cruises on other lines. They could use a few more center elevators as there always seemed to be quite a wait, but not intolerable. Spa service was good, but beware of a discount promotion for their "Vitality Spa" that is not very clear. The promotion does not mean the whole ship spa, in the fine print it refers to only certain spa treatments.

Great Cruise. by CarolD12

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise on the Radiance of the Seas. The ship was beautifully decorated and very clean. The Schooner Bar was so warm with all the gorgeous wood. We had so much fun with the activities planned by the cruise director. We had a blast at Disco Night. The Spa Pool was elegant and serene. It was such a wonderful place to relax. The food served at the Buffet was a pleasant surprise. Usually you have to go to the main dining to enjoy delectable entrees, but the food at the buffet was excellent. The staff was very accommodating. Everyone was very pleasant. We would definitely recommend this cruise to our friends.

Beautiful Ship - not too large, but nice to be on a larger ship than Majesty and other ships previously cruised on.

A++++++++ SUPER GREAT by JerryK4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first cruise and I checked out MANY reviews on Cruise Lines and ships to choose. Royal kept coming up the most as the type we would enjoy. It was superb. Will probably cruise now more than going to a resort. Radiance of the Seas was beautiful. There wasn't ANYTHING that was a problem from the moment we got to the port till we departed the port on the last day. Left from Tampa to Cozemel and Costa Maya and all I can say is WOW and PERFECT.

Great Cruise Time by Sima1

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very good time, plenty of activities - only the shopping activity was a sales pitch- the crew and other passengers were very friendly and a joy to be around. We sat at late dining with another couple and i would recommend as it provided an opportunity to visit and share information about happenings. Thanks to Bill and Carol for being great tablemates!

Everything I wanted & more by PaulineC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My girlfriends just wanted to get away for a few days to rest, relax, have fun and be ourselves. We did all of that and more. Everything from boarding, to disembarking was "smooth sailing". I may even do it again with my husband.

My Birthday Cruise by JaniceP3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my first experience sailing with Royal Caribbean. It was also my birthday on 10-10-10! I wanted it to be a special birthday, and it most certainly was special. The Radiance of the Seas is a beautiful ship; wonderfully appointed. The staff are extraordinary! The food is stupendous! I couldn't have designed a better way to celebrate my birthday. Norman (cabin stewart) posted a birthday banner and balloons on my door! I left them on all week! There was a cake and the birthday song in the dining room. My fellow dining room guests were marvelous! Such a diverse group of people -- I couldn't wait until dinner to hear all about what each had done for the day. I was encouraged to try snorkeling, and I promise I will on my next cruise! All-in-all, I was marvelously surprised -- delighted really -- with my cruise aboard the Radiance of the Seas. There was no down-side. The itinerary was wonderful and I truly enjoyed the Solarium's hot tub and the quietness of the "adults only" location. I simply can't wait until my next RCCI Cruise!!!

No wonder its a "wonder" by FraserS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

The Radiance was as all RCL ships are, clean, efficient and well staffed. From the moment we boarded in San Diego to disembarking 16 days later in Tampa, we were always taken by the professionalism and friendliness of the crew. We did have a problem with the bathroom leaking, however once it was realised that it couldnt be fixed with us in the cabin, we were immediately moved to a similar cabin without any inconvenience and looked after in addition. The ports in most part were great, particularly Cartagena and Hautalco. The transit of the Canal was the highlight and one can only marvel at the 100 year old engineering. A great cruise which we would recommend to all.

Alaska was beautiful by Carol3

Sail date: /
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The ship had many problems especially our stateroom. The service was below Royal Carribean standards. The staff could not handle all of the people on the ship. Many were rude and indifferent to our needs. The shopping information from the cruise Director and his assistance was a "rip off". They sold portofolios for $30 with coupons worth thousands of $$ but you had to spend $$ thousands to save $100. The presentation was much too long and not informative.

Amazing Alaska by TravisD

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Our cruise from Seward to Vancouver was an amazing experience, the scenery was incredible! and a cruise is really the best way to see Alaska! The ports of call were interesting and offered a variety of activities, we were pleased with the room and the ship was huge! The only negative would be that we are in our mid/late Twenties, and in terms of activities for us, and 'nightlife' these were lacking in quality and quantity. Overall it was an amazing cruise, and an excellent week to end our trip in USA/Canada

Not bad, but wouldn't do again... by Richard1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The ship was extremely clean. Facilities were always in tip-top shape. The elevators were usually overcrowded mid-ship and required sometimes lengthy waits. Better to use the forward elevators. I found the pools were a bit too frequently closed.

Perfect "First Cruise" by DeanK73136196

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

As our first cruise I don't think we could have made a better choice. Our balcony room was perfect -- plenty of closet space, great shower, and a very comfortable bed. Room service was quick and friendly. Boarding and leaving the ship was well-organized and went relatively quickly. Overall, we were stunned by the beauty and service on board. We've already begun making plans to return to Radiance of the Seas for another cruise.
