Review summary

The Radiance was as all RCL ships are, clean, efficient and well staffed. From the moment we boarded in San Diego to disembarking 16 days later in Tampa, we were always taken by the professionalism and friendliness of the crew. We did have a problem with the bathroom leaking, however once it was realised that it couldnt be fixed with us in the cabin, we were immediately moved to a similar cabin without any inconvenience and looked after in addition. The ports in most part were great, particularly Cartagena and Hautalco. The transit of the Canal was the highlight and one can only marvel at the 100 year old engineering. A great cruise which we would recommend to all.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

We got the sitting we wanted and had excellent service throughout the cruise. Had great table mates as well which always helps to make dinner something to look forward to.

Service and Staff

Once it was determined our first stateroom was no longer habitable while it was being repaired, the attendants and officers made sure we were well taken care of, including roses for my wife and a nice dinner in Chops.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

Beautiful island and have visited many times but unfortunately the high seas and wind cancelled our excursion. Great town to walk around with some neat shops and restaurants.

Cartagena, Colombia

Had a great time touring around this old and new city. The old town is definitely not to be missed as is the fort.

We took a cab to the cliff divers and a quick city tour through old town. While it was amazing to see the divers, we could quite easily leave the rest of the city behind. Dirty and couldnt walk a step without being assaulted for money. Unfortunately, while we would like to help you cant help them all.
Don't Miss: Cliff divers

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Puntarenas, Costa Rica

Another surprisingly nice stop although couldnt help thinking that it could be so much cleaner with little effort. Great artisans just off the pier and never felt insecure about walking around the town.

Huatulco, Mexico

We walked around this clean town and we impressed by both the people and the architecture. No begging which was a welcome relief. Great beach and bay to swim in.

Pros: Transit of the Panama Canal

Cons: weather
