Back to Back Alaska cruises is the way to go. We flew all day, so best to be up there awhile to get over the jetlag and to take advantage of the incredible wilderness. DeepWaterHappy blog will have articles about all our excursions soon.

Embarkation

So easy - back to back options were SO easy.

Always dependable.

Onboard Activities

Fitness center team was exceptional. I went to every type of class they offered!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Musicals, musicians, all the performances were great.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our waiters remembered our preferences from day one, as did our bartenders, room steward; everyone was incredibly personable and professional.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
LOVE the smaller ships with the lack of crowds but abundant areas to relax.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We got a Royal Up to the aft balcony one deck higher than the last week!

Ship tip

Participate in the stretch and abs classes, use the spa sauna and steam room, don't forget to spend some time on the helipad.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

Walked to the aquarium; wonderful experience. Next time we'll rent bikes and tour the island by bike path.

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

5 out of 5
Aft cabin was excellent; not cold, not windy, with 180-pluss degree views.

Juneau, Alaska

Taku Lodge Seaplane Dinner - the story of the lodge was captivating, the seaplane trip incredible. If you haven't seen a glacier from above; do it. Great food, great views.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

Rode the gondola, and went on a kayak adventure. Our first time in the two-person kayak; so much fun!

Sitka, Alaska

5 out of 5
Fin Island Lodge and Zodiac Adventure - Oh wow the food is incredible! And, the ride in the Zodiac is phenomenal - we were able to get up close to whales in a way you simply cannot in the larger whale watching excursion boats.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Wilderness Kayak Experience at Lake Chilkoot - this is the only excursion we did in three weeks that I would not repeat. It was nice, placid kayaking in a two-person kayak, great views, but not much chance of wildlife sightings.

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

5 out of 5
We did the glacier cruise the trip before - we really must recommend it! Worth doing!

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

5 out of 5
Departure straight onto the railway for a beautiful, scenic trip back to Anchorage. This is a well-kept secret; because it leaves early, many don't go, so, you have two seats to yourself, breakfast, lunch, and bar service in your car, a great tour guide telling you upcoming photo opportunities.

Disembarkation

Walked off - RCCL took care of our luggage.
