Back to Back Alaska cruises is the way to go. We flew all day, so best to be up there awhile to get over the jetlag and to take advantage of the incredible wilderness. DeepWaterHappy blog will have articles about all our excursions soon.

Ship tip
Participate in the stretch and abs classes, use the spa sauna and steam room, don't forget to spend some time on the helipad.
Taku Lodge Seaplane Dinner - the story of the lodge was captivating, the seaplane trip incredible. If you haven't seen a glacier from above; do it. Great food, great views.
Fin Island Lodge and Zodiac Adventure - Oh wow the food is incredible! And, the ride in the Zodiac is phenomenal - we were able to get up close to whales in a way you simply cannot in the larger whale watching excursion boats.
Wilderness Kayak Experience at Lake Chilkoot - this is the only excursion we did in three weeks that I would not repeat. It was nice, placid kayaking in a two-person kayak, great views, but not much chance of wildlife sightings.
Departure straight onto the railway for a beautiful, scenic trip back to Anchorage. This is a well-kept secret; because it leaves early, many don't go, so, you have two seats to yourself, breakfast, lunch, and bar service in your car, a great tour guide telling you upcoming photo opportunities.
