Review summary

Overall a wonderful cruise, the only issue was the day there were only two functioning elevators to get off the ship in Sitka. This was challenging with a wheel chair.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth, we were on the ship enjoying our vacation in no time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Edmond and Takunda were phenomenal. I have never felt more like royalty than being served by these two gentlemen. They remembered our names, what we liked to drink, and how we liked to drink it(ie my son likes no ice, after the first night his drink had no ice without saying anything). And with their service came their personalities. Edmond would show the kids math riddles with toothpicks. I cannot express enough how our wait staff in the main dining room helped to enhance our wonderful experience on our cruise.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The kids enjoyed the rock climbing wall and the arcade. We played golf as a family, and the kids enjoyed the solarium pool when it was available to them.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Saw a comedian magician and the Piano Man show, both were very well done.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
My teens went to the teen room one afternoon, and saw it to be more of a babysitter place, my son said he was playing a game and another kid took the controller and said let me show you something, then the other kid played and didn’t give it back. I know this is no fault of Royal Caribbean, it’s just simply the way some children are brought up as what is acceptable behavior. My daughter is 10, and went to the little kids thing at the same time my boys went to the teens, and she said she didn’t care if she went back or not. We didn’t send them any more after the first sea day.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All ship personnel were very professional, our room steward did a great job and the kids loved the towel animals. We ordered room service for breakfast a couple times, and it was always delivered within the promised window.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very well kept up, I know the ship we sailed on was an older ship, and some of the age showed in little ways, but overall, as far as cleanliness goes, very clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We tried to have four of our family stay in this little bitty room for the week, which was our mistake. We had to dance around any time anyone wanted to get up and go anywhere. Hard to keep a small place clean with two teenage boys too. Again this is no fault of Royal Caribbe

We were late getting to this excursion because of an elevator issue on the ship, but a lady put us in a van and caught us up to the tour. Had a great time in Beautiful Sitka

Skagway, Alaska

The train ride I had waited for for a year and a half did not disappoint. We saw Caribou on the mountain top while riding the train, and soaked up all the natural beauty of the mountains around the White Pass.

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

Got to see calving from the monster glacier from our balcony.

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska Did not visit port

We took a bus to Anchorage, and didn’t see much in Seward.

Disembarkation

Smoother than embarkation day, and I wouldn’t have thought that possible.
