Review summary

Out of the six cruises we have taken on other cruiselines, it was our least favorite. The first week of May in Alaska is just too cold. The issues with the electrical outlets really affected our trip. We thought the crew staff were amazing.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
We were informed that there would be buses leaving every half hour from Ancorhage apirport to Seward. This was definitely not the case. We waited 2.5 hrs for a bus.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We enjoyed the solarium. It filled up quickly.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We loved the comedian, Cary Long. We were confused about the other shows - we couldn't really follow the stories they tried to convey.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our waiters, Putu and (shoot - I forgot his name) were awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Christopher, our room steward was great and tried si hard to get them to fix our electrical issues.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Everything was clean. I did notice several areas had peeling paint (seen from the elevators and in the solarium).

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
We had two outlets, neither of which worked consistently. We have cruised 6x, but never with Royal Carribean. The size of the cabin was very nice, but not being able to charge our phones/cameras, laptop, and especially my dorsal column stimulator (which is in my spine and provides pain relief) was a major issue. Our TV was finally fixed on the 5th day.

Ship tip

I would not sail with this ship if you get seasick easily. It is small and you will feel the waves. We also had numerous electrical issues in our cabin.

Ports of call

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska Did not visit port

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

4 out of 5
No excursions available, but seeing the glacier was interesting, albeit extremely cold.

Skagway, Alaska

3 out of 5
Numerous shops were high pressured sales and so many items from China.

This was our favorite port. We got to see a bald eagle, whales, seals, and hike in nature.

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5

Sorry you were disappointed

I think this is a fake review. All the ports and all they did was shop with high be pressure sales. We went on many excursions with our ports and shopped in Juneau and there was no pressure at all.

I saw a video of the train from Skagway in early May and everything was blanketed in snow. I'd like to see that someday
