Review summary

The Radiance of the Seas cruise to Alaska was a once in a lifetime cruise for me. I very much enjoyed the itinerary and the sights. For the most part the crew was very friendly and glad to be of service. There were a few bartenders that were pushing the drink package the first two days of the cruise - perhaps they are compensated by how many they sign up. All in all, I am grateful to have made the journey on the Radiance.

Embarkation

A lot of walking back and forth at the port. This could have been streamlined a bit.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I give it a three because they served Tiramisu with a pistacchio biscuit. Never in my life have I had Tiramisu with any nuts in it. It's actually NOT supposed to have any, but they chef put his own spin on it. This is fine, unless you have a tree nut allergy and it's not disclosed. Luckily I was able to get some benedryl and it was only a mild reaction.

Onboard Activities

The hot tub in the solarium was nice to have for days at sea.

Service and Staff

Our room steward, Lucky, was phenomenal.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The layout was a little disjointed compared to some of the other ships I've been on. There was really only one elevator embankment that people used for the whole ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The size and layout were what I expected.
