Beautiful Ship by sisterdeed

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Queen Mary 2

It was a wonderful experience. The transatlantic crossing was peaceful, the ports were great, The designer of the ship was one of the speakers…very interesting! It was not an experience like a Caribbean cruise…it had a much older and sedate group of passengers.

Fantastic Caribbean Cruise by p411johan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Caribbean

After easy embarkation process, the cruise set sail weathering a storm out of New York with minimal turbulence felt aboard. Food, cabin and entertainment all par excellence! All the Caribbean ports lovely. Cruise ended with well organized disembarkation. As a solo traveler, I was extremely happy!!!

Trip of a lifetime! by MrsOkincicas

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

I loved the experience of the westbound crossing...watching our departure from Southampton, the gala nights, the food, the ship design, star gazing, spotting other vessels, arriving in New York. It was everything I was hoping for. I plan to try an eastbound crossing or, even better, a roundtrip next!

For the over 80 crowd by Parkpalace

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Caribbean

Not my style. It was interesting to see how the Brits enjoy themselves but all in all it was a very old crowd. First and last time for me. The wifi was very expensive and extremely poor.

Rough Crossing in November 2022 by Valuehound

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

Plusses: you arrive without jet-lag. The food in the main dining room is varied and good. The buffet is poorly laid out and under-staffed. The staterooms are in need of an update. The crew and staff are friendly and attentive. But beware of the North Atlantic in a time of year when storms are more likely if you have any problems with motion sickness.

Northern Lights by jasinskd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Weather impacted departure from port day one but time was made up. Missed 2 ports due to high seas but a substitute (Brugges) was added. Overall impressed by the quick response of the entertainment team and crew. Excellent experience!

Shameful Embarkation, Mediocre Service by Loveli

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The embarkation was the worst part of the cruise; whenever you met a new face, we all shared our travails of the embarkation. Passengers were all pleasant. The Cunard staff service was mediocre; no good mornings, hellos, and a lot of eye rolling...too bad. I will not be a returning customer.

Excellent July 4th trip by buckml67

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Apart from the embarkation, the QM2 is a remarkable ship. The staff is very friendly and capable. The stateroom was very comfortable. Many food choices from the Britannia to the smaller venues. Wide choices at the bars. Enjoyed dressing up for the two fancy nights.

Fantastic transatlantic experience! by lindacook618

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

Love, love, love the QM2. The cruising experience is exceptional. Embarking and disembarking are the only downsides. Not well organized, very slow, very tedious. But the rest is glorious!

Disastrous boarding process by johndlewis

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

Superb ship, superb staff, superb food, all spoiled by a disastrous embarkation attributable, I suspect, to Gross understaffing by Cunard.

Amazing ezperience! by LON624

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

Amazing, relaxing, and fun filled voyage with delicious food, and great ambience created by the wonderful personnel onboard. I would like to highlight and commend on the professional and courteous treatment provided by the casino staff, specifically from Romulus, Jeffrey, the slot machine manager, Caroline and the bar attendant whose name escapes me. Thanks to all for an amazing time!

GREAT by haroldalex

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

2 DAYS BEFORE OUR DEPARTURE CUNARD LIFTED ALL PASSENGER MASK REQUIREMENTS. CREW STILL HAD TO WEAR MASKS AT ALL TIMES. SOME SEATS IN THE THEATERS WERE STILL BLOCKED OFF FOR SPACING. THE VOYAGE WAS PRETTY CLOSE TO BEING BACK TO A PRE-COVID CROSSING ON THE QM2. IN SOME WAYS, WITH A REDUCED PASSENGER LOAD, FULL CREW COMPLEMENT AND EXTRA ENTERTSINMENT, IT WAS EVEN BETTER.

Underwhelmed. by spfau

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

The Queen Mary 2 does not live up to its reputation. The ship shows wear. The officers and crew are less friendly than we’ve experienced on prior ships. The ships maze-like layout is odd and confusing. The one lecture we attended on giving a good speech was about the worst speech I’ve ever heard. Worst is that any concerns raised are dismissed.

cunard living off old charm . needs to catch up. by matronsue

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Queen Mary 2

Cunard delivers lovely accommodation and food , with beautiful interiors . Outside spaces are tired and lacking compared to other cruise lines. A lovely holiday but cunard excursion to Hamburg ruined it for us. Rusty dirty pools with broken tiles. First cruise we have never been able to swim.

A sad ending due to the virus by rbernat6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Many ships understandably stopped going to China and Hong Kong. Cunard chose to eliminate every port in Asia. Other ships, even from the Carnival line, had no such problem. We know for sure that Seabourn Ovation, for one had people go ashore in Port Klang. MSC Splendida, with friends onboard, began in Singapore. I can't fault Cunard's decision to be overly cautious and the fact that no virus cases occurred, is a good thing. But despite whatever financial hardship this has caused the company, the passengers (like myself) who made and cancelled several return trips home from different ports and lost the entire payment for a Singapore hotel remain distressed and hurt financially as well as missing ports that were one of the reasons for taking this cruise in the first place. Some compensation is deserved based on the fact that Cunard chose to forgo many ports and many others did not.
