The Queen Mary 2 does not live up to its reputation. The ship shows wear. The officers and crew are less friendly than we’ve experienced on prior ships. The ships maze-like layout is odd and confusing. The one lecture we attended on giving a good speech was about the worst speech I’ve ever heard. Worst is that any concerns raised are dismissed.

A fellow passenger commented, “I’ve seen better organized riots than this”. Worst embarkation that I’ve ever experienced.

Facilities are fine. Wait staff just ok. Food just ok. For example, several items that you’d expect to be served warm are served cold, apparently for the convenience of the cooking or waiting staff. Staff was very dismissive when asked about this, or anything.

The crew, except for a few, were just there. Officers avoided eye contact and did not greet any guests. Questions asked and concerned raised at the Pursor’s desk were not answered and dismissed.

Layout is very odd and maze like. You must go through various rooms to get to other spaces. Furniture and facilities show wear.
Cabin / Stateroom

Similar to most cabins of this type. Recommend “sheltered” balcony versus “obstructed” view.
Ship tip
Lower your expectations. For us the ship did not live up to it’s pedigree.
