Review summary

The embarkation was the worst part of the cruise; whenever you met a new face, we all shared our travails of the embarkation. Passengers were all pleasant. The Cunard staff service was mediocre; no good mornings, hellos, and a lot of eye rolling...too bad. I will not be a returning customer.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
It took four hours to board the ship! Long lines, elderly patrons passing out due to hot sun on the line. Hot canned water offered after an hour, ambulances and fire trucks came to service those clients who passed out. There were no chairs!! Not even for those with canes! There were too few people assisting to move the multiple lines.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The Main dining rooms were nice, the service was poor. Greetings were rare; the hosts were not particularly helpful or friendly.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Main pool was closed. Fitness Center was open, but empty most of the time.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Excellent performances, they gave us their best show!

Children's Programs

No children on board

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
They were not friendly, and it was as if passengers posed an inconvenience. The Room Steward begged for money as soon as I got to my room, without providing any type of service!! Shame!!

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
It is a beautiful ship, and the cleaning staff were always vacuuming. The common areas were being cleaned, but repeatedly with the same pail of water/solution and the rag that was in the bucket...we are in a pandemic. There should have been spray bottles with solutions, and disposable wipes.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
My cabin had a sheltered balcony, and the room was spacious. King size bed, mini-fridge, sofa, and lots of closet space. The bathroom had enough space even with the door closed.

Ship tip

The population is very old; 75+ I was appalled at how these seniors were treated. I did not experience the magnificence associated with the QM2. Shop around, you deserve better.

Pouring rain and winds; nowhere for the two bus loads of people to go. We stayed inside the Peggy's Cove restaurant until it was time to leave. The weather did not permit any outdoor activities. We roamed from upstairs to downstairs looking at souvenirs, and then had a lobster dinner.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
No problems with disembarkation. Suitcases were in the color tagged areas.
