Review summary

This was a fabulous trip with truly the best staff ever experienced on a cruise! We highly recommend Alaska and this cruise line.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The embarkation process was smooth and seamless, but we did get delayed for over 6 hours from our original time. It was due to weather, so no fault of Royal Caribbean, but it did keep us from experiencing a full first day.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Excellent! The food at all venues was delicious. We ate in the main dining room each evening as well as some breakfast & lunches, then the rest in the Windjammer buffet or pizza place. Great variety and all was so good!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Though we felt it was too cold for the pool or wave rider, we did enjoy the fitness center and hot tub several times. It was all well maintained and a great experience!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We attended each of the evening shows as well as several other entertainment venues, and each was impressive! They do a great job of varying the shows and keeping us entertained.

Children's Programs

No children on this trip

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I wish I could give them all an even higher rating! We've been on 10+ cruises, and this staff was the best we've ever encountered. Each person from the room steward to the waiters to the head wait staff were so friendly and helpful. Every staff member we passed would smile and speak, and we felt so welcomed.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This ship's layout was a bit different without a main center area, but it was well laid out and had everything we needed. We consistently saw staff cleaning areas throughout the day. When entering the Windjammer, the staff member would sing and make sure we all washed our hands - loved Lucky!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This cabin was well laid out and had more room than most other ship's we've been on for this size. The balcony was the best! We loved being out there with our coffee and a book and watching the ship go by the coast, mountains and wildlife.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

4 out of 5
We did not do an excursion, but enjoyed visiting the Pike Street Market and Space Needle on our own.

Sitka, Alaska Did not visit port

Unfortunately, the weather did not permit us to visit Sitka.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Thoroughly enjoyed this port! It felt like what Alaska small town should be. We enjoyed the waterfall excursion, and the tour guide was excellent.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

5 out of 5
Absolutely beautiful! One of our favorite parts of the trip.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
We did the Juneau City & Mendenhall Glacier excursion and it was great! The glacier and waterfall there is not to be missed.

Victoria, British Columbia

5 out of 5
Just explored on our own, but a nice town and great stop.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth process to disembark. Loved the fact we could use the port valet option that took our luggage straight to the aiport, allowing us to explore Seattle before our afternoon flight.
