Review summary

This cruise was a wonderful time. The weather held out well for us, little to no rain impeded our ports and activities. Our excursions and touring were fun and interesting. The ship catered to all we needed.

Fast, simple, efficient... took us less than 30 min to arrive to the port before we were on the ship... thank you Key Pass

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was I remember it from other cruises -- done well and consistent. We knew what to expect if we were into the daily specials for the main dining. When we were late one night from an excursion even though we have a specified dining time, we were accommodated nicely. The Windjammer as well had all the usual too. We didn't eat at any specialty locations but did eat at the Solarium for dinner once, which is different from both Windjammer and Main Dining on this ship -- complimentary but with a unique menu.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I liked the variety of activities. We used the gym for stretching classes, watched whales from the Solarium hot tubs, and attended a number of different classes/activity events.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Though spectacularly presented and the dancers/singers were quite talented, the shows weren't our cup of tea. We prefer to them to have a storyline/make sense instead of a lot of random elements put together like a dance studio performance. The comedian we had seen before on the Allure a few years back. The magician was good at his craft.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All staff encounters were wonderful -- all of them congenial, accommodating, prompt, and helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
There were a couple places where the ship showed its age (even though only 9 yrs old) but in general it was well-maintained. The last two ships I was on were Oasis-class and getting used to the difference took some time. In the end, I liked a few things better about Quantum's layout over than one like Music Hall and 270, but enough of the similarities were there to make the transition easier.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Everything was great about the room. The only issue we had was there was a noisome rattling that was also outside as well. I think it might have to do with being at a bulkhead or maybe something on the floor above us but it really only occurred when engines were running pretty fast.

Ship tip

This is a good ship and is wealth worth your time. Take some time to breathe and have fun!

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

5 out of 5
Just got on and off the ship here.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Ketchikan is a small place compared to others I've been to but it had a lot to do (excursions, shops, restaurants, etc.), just wish we had more time at this location.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
This is the smallest place I've been to on any cruise but culturally very interesting and fun going into the town of Hoonah and around the cannery or the top of the mountain.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

5 out of 5
Not a port and the excursion here was cancelled due to time. But being able to float down the fjord and see the glacier was quite incredible.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Juneau was a lot of fun with the whale watching tour we went on 2.5 hrs of beautiful scenery and we saw lots of whales and orcas.

Victoria, British Columbia Did not visit port

Medical emergency cut off our ability to make the port on time and so was cut from our itinerary.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy peasy, no issues and very fast.
