Review summary

A fun cruise. We enjoyed seeing Alaska, just wish the weather had been better. Quantum of the Seas is a great ship with a dedicated crew. Seattle is a good city to depart from on a cruise.

Embarkation

Fantastic. Smooth and easy--just the way it should be.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining room was excellent. It was so good, we did not feel the need to experience a specialty restaurant. The service was superior and attentive.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Varied and engaging entertainment. Something different almost every night and multiple venues! All of the shows were first class.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The wait staff went above and beyond accommodate us and make the dining experience excellent--we usually dined in the main dining room except for lunch.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Common areas were clean, but recurring problems with the toilets on one of the decks seemed to be something which should have been fixed right the first time.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We really enjoyed the cabin and the veranda. The room seemed very spacious and the layout of the cabin with the sitting area before the bed and veranda provided a great use of space. There was ample storage for personal effects and clothing.

Ship tip

Enjoy the ship and don't miss the bumper cars!

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

Seattle was great. We spent a few extra days here to take in the sights. DO NOT MISS the Space Needle or the Chihuly Glass Museum.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Very picturesque. It looks like an Alaskan town. We did an excursion which was fun and included a sea boil dinner. They made only the. barest accommodations for people with seafood allergies.

Sitka, Alaska

5 out of 5
A fun city. We enjoyed the downtown area. If you are looking for the town pictured in the move "The Proposal" you are going to be disappointed. The excursion around Sitka Bay was our best of the trip. We saw humpback whales, otters. sea lions, and enjoyed a great narrative from a naturalist.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER Did not visit port

Sadly, this was canceled due to safety concerns by the Captain. We were on deck in anticipation, but the weather was uncooperative.

Juneau, Alaska

4 out of 5
Juneau is fun and the shopping is good. We visited the Mendenhall Glacier during a driving rainstorm. We got wet. Unfortunately, this tour did not actually go to the glacier, we only viewed it from a distance. And in the rain and cold, we did not get to fully appreciate the scene.

Victoria, British Columbia

5 out of 5
A great stop that needs more time ashore. We did the bits and bites tour which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth and nice.
