Entertainment

While the performers are very good, the structure of the shows does not serve them well. The two “big” shows I say, Starwater and Sonic Odyssey, were (at best) confusing. Neither show seemed to have a plot other than “here’s some people singing and dancing”, which is ok if the show is advertised as a variety show, but that wasn’t the case here.

Ship Quality

Quantum is showing her age, especially the dry dock period that was missed because of COVID. It’s nothing major, but the little things are telling. Some bathroom fixtures are loose, carpet a bit worn in some areas, chipped and peeling paint, etc. All of these are things you would expect to see in a ship that is overdue for some intensive TLC, which is certainly the case here. My real issue, though, is the design and layout. Compared to almost every other RCCL ship, the layout is awkward, inefficient, and confusing. I particularly did not enjoy sitting on the Esplanade (not a Promenade) and having to listen to music blasting out of three (sometimes four) different bars at the same time. It appears that, in an attempt to save space, the designers crammed bars and lounges in wherever they thought they had enough space. Lastly, the locations for bother Jamie’s and Chops is horrendous. In both cases, the “views” are of lifeboats. Also, both restaurants are located right next to main walkways, so people walking by can look right in at your plate. I personally prefer a more private experience.

Appreciate your detailed feedback feedback. Sorry you didn’t care for the layout of the ship but glad you didn’t let that ruin your Alaskan cruise.
