Review summary

I know that an Alaskan cruise is hit or miss with the weather but if it is raining everyday, the views are not as spectacular as they can be. The Royal Caribbean app needs to be more user friendly as well. The structure of the activities needs to align better with the daily schedule of events and how passengers can book their activities. All in all, we made the best of it and spending time with the family is what we did and enjoyed every minute of our time together.

Embarkation

The process was quick and seamless.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was dull. The main dining room dinner lacked flavor on some days but the variations were good. Drinks were priced ok for being on a cruise. It seemed like the Windjammer had the same food every day. The hamburgers were awful and the buns were stale. The rest of the food was ok but nothing to get excited over. The best food was the pizza at Sorrento's.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Most of the high end activities were already sold out before we got on the ship. The trivia was very fun as well as the music themed nights.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We went to the 80s themed dance party and they played the Beatles (?). It was till fun to watch everyone dance and have a good time.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the staff were wonderful. Our waiters (Darma and Lemwell) and room steward (Danny) were awesome. Always checking to see if we needed anything.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I wish the cabins were a touch bigger. For 3 people on a 7 day cruise, there is not enough space for everything and to store away luggage too. The beds are comfortable enough but the sofa bed was harder than the sofa itself.

Ship tip

Plan activities as early as possible.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

We arrived a day early but did not do any excursions.

Ketchikan, Alaska

It was a nice port with places to visit close to the ship but it was raining so we didn't go very far from port.

Sitka, Alaska

5 out of 5
It was a nice port with places to visit close to the ship. Our tour was wonderful. We went to the Alaska Raptor Center, Fortress of the Bear and the Sitka Science Center. Sadly it was raining so it wasn't as enjoyable as it could have been but that's no ones fault.

Juneau, Alaska

It was a nice port with places to visit close to the ship. Our tour was wonderful. We went to the Mendenhall Glacier on the Blue Bus through M&M Tours. Sadly it was also raining that day so it wasn't as enjoyable as it could have been but again, that's no ones fault.

Victoria, British Columbia

I was a little sad about this port as it did not have anything to do close to the port. You had to take a bus, trolley or carriage to town. It was the only day that had beautiful weather.

Disembarkation

Seamless process.
