Review summary

Did not appreciate the skipping of Skagway, the lack of communication from the company and that we got NO compensation.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Quickly got onboard. Organized

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food has been better on carnival and all of the Covid protocols have been dropped on ship. We got sick after.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
All of these were great, but I do not recommend the heated loungers. They don't face the ocean. No view. Waste of money. The rock wall and boogie boarding, laser tag, and bumper cars kept the kids happy and busy.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The Elton John tribute was the best, and the silent party. There was no sail away party, less fun that other cruiselines.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My 11 year old wanted to keep coming back.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Beautiful ship, I wish they followed more Covid protocols since we left the boat and tested positive.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Smaller than I hoped, I would have liked the bed near the window.

Ship tip

Even if others don't you may want to consider a mask.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

Sitka, Alaska

Skagway, Alaska Did not visit port

This was upsetting since all other ships did tenders and ours skipped it.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

Didn't make it to the glacier. Disappointing.

Whales and Mendonhall Glacier

Victoria, British Columbia

I’d write to RCI and complain. Did you use a travel agent, or self-book? This is where a good travel agent is worth their weight in gold.

Second your comments, we missing Icy Point the following week because of a medical emergency, very little communication from ship, and nothing but water on both sides of us for another day

Thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed most of it. Quantum of the Seas can only dock at the rear portion of the railroad dock due to it’s size. After the accident, they were unsure of the damage and Quantum had to skip Skagway. Alaska is not designed for the largest ships currently, so it’s better to book an older, smaller ship if you return.
