Review summary

This was our first trip to Alaska and we loved it! Roundtrip from Seattle was a great way to see enough of Alaska to wet our appetite and plan for an extended trip to the interior in the future.

Embarkation

Long lines! Be prepared to wait about 1 1/2 hours from the time you arrive until the time you board the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Loved the Silk dining room and of course the Windjammer is always good.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Loved riding the bumper cars at sea! Art history classes were informative and interesting. Highly recommend the Mixology classes - but show up early! There is limited seating and each time there were people who weren't able to participate.

Entertainment

Shows were great!

Service and Staff

Everyone was wonderful - exactly what you expect on a Royal Caribbean cruise!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This ship was different from other Royal ships. We enjoyed it. Only thing we missed was the Viking Crown Lounge but we were able to find another spot for our pre-dinner drinks.

Cabin / Stateroom

LOVED this cabin! The design is different than most cabins as it is more square than rectangle. This made it and the balcony feel more spacious. There was so much storage we didn't even use it all1

Went kayaking - had a great time. Saw lots of bald eagles and learned about the area.

Train ride is a must! The views were amazing and it was a relaxing way to see the wilderness.

Juneau, Alaska

Rainforest hike and Whale watching is a must! Only regret is that it didn't leave us any time to visit the shopping area of Juneau. Amazing day!

Victoria, British Columbia

We opted out of an excursion on this day. Transportation to the downtown/shopping area seemed pricey to us ($13.50 USD per person on a bus!) so we just walked along the coastal park that is right there. Very pretty.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy enough to get off the ship.
