Review summary

My ship board experience was not good. I spent 12 days arguing with them over the temperature in our cabin. They would come and check it and then tell me they would make an adjustment. It was nothing but lip service. It was so hot in my room I had to sleep out on my veranda some nights. The entertainment was either non existing or terrible. Board games is not my idea of entertainment. The best food on the ship was the burger bar and the specialty restaurant. The rest was just so so. Needless to say I will not go on another Holland America “dam” ship. They did not even address my disappointment with them after my review.

We went on the Nieuw Amsterdam last March. Everything about it was fantastic. The staff in the buffet was always smiling, and happy and ready to help. Our room steward always called us by name everytime he saw us and asked how the ports were everyday.Our room always spotless. And the food was absolutely delicious, buffet, main dining room, Dive-In for hamburgers and hotdogs, and the pizza place. Would definitely go on Nieuw Amsterdam again. Loved it

Just me but I would persist to get some kind of redistribution in this case. If there was nothing to be done, they should have given you a proper explanation. Too late now to apologize.
