We had a fantastic cruise on the Oosterdam.  This ship very nice and well maintained. In the eleven cruises with Holland America Lines we have never been disappointed. Our favorite ports were seeing the monkeys on St. Kitts, Zip lining on St. Lucia, and the Tram Ride & Helmet Dive on St. Thomas.  We also enjoyed hanging out at beach bar at Emerald Beach Resort in St. Thomas. Half Moon Cay was really relaxing also. We plan on doing this again in the future!

Cabin / Stateroom

Great cabin stewards, Sebastian and Widodo, moved like Ninjas! So polite and every time we left the cabin it was already clean when we returned, even if for a few minutes! We liked the cabin even though it was categorized as "obstructed view." We could still see the ocean over the lifeboat.

Ship Tip

Make sure to go to Happy Hour on the ship. This gives a chance to meet new people while enjoying drinks, buy one, get a second for only a dollar.

Had a fantastic time on the Zip Line Canopy and Tram Ride. $100 but well worth it.

Be careful of the guys walking with monkeys around the stores on the waterfront. They will walk up to you and set the monkey(s) in your arms and on your head, and while your smiling & falling in love with the little guys, they will offer to take pictures of you with your camera. Of course you say yes because your caught up in the moment. He snaps several pictures of you & monkey(s), then your spouse, then both together, then takes the monkeys back with your camera still in his hand and says, "That will be $20" Feeling obligated you then have a choice of paying him or making a scene. We figured it's still cheaper than what the ship would charge! 9 pics for $20 vs. $15 for 1 portrait!

The Helmet Dive was fun. A little unnerving at first but fun after a few minutes once you relax.
