Review summary

Great Mediterranean Option, new modern sleek and very nice Norwegian Ship, you get to see a new location every day. There are no sea days though, if you would like to enjoy the ship, you need to stay and not get off in one or more ports. Norwegian provides an Excellent Value for your money.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The check in process and port embarkation moved pretty quickly

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Many food options on the Norwegian Viva, if you consider the Specialty Restaurants. No restaurants or food options outside of cabin after 10 pm.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The Norwegian Viva has excellent onboard activities for kids and teenagers. The main pool is too small for the size of ship.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The Production of the Beetlejuice Musical was excellent.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The waiters, room stewards work very hard to make your cruise a very enjoyable one. Cruise Desk personnel answer all your questions.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very nice, modern ship, lots of bars and entertainment options.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Excellent size of room and bathroom, this cabin a good size regular balcony mid ship.

Ship tip

Make reservations for dining, specially if you are a larger group or family. It will make your dining experience much nicer.

Lisbon, Portugal

Gibraltar (U.K.)

Disembarked and took a taxi tour of the rock, it was a few hours, and it left us time to still enjoy time back on the ship.

Cadiz (Seville), Spain

4 out of 5
We decided to take a Norwegian Shore Excursion to Seville.

Motril (Granada), Spain

We took a Norwegian Shore Excursion to Granada.

Ibiza, Balearic Islands

Had a very nice beach transfer to a enjoy the day at the beach.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

We decided to take a Norwegian Shore Excursion to the Beach. It was more like a Beach Transfer sold as a Tour and Beach Break. We were lucky to get and be able to pay for an umbrella and chair lounges. Also, we heard back on the ship that it wasn't the best beach to go to.

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
WoW what a city. It has everything, but you have to decide what you want to see or concentrate on. We decided to book our own Highlights tour and were lucky that we had a great guide. We went to Monserratt and enjoyed it a lot. If you want to see inside the Sagrada Familia, concentrate and do that first. You need to reserve and purchase tickets beforehand or book a tour that includes the Inside Visit.

Marseille (Provence), France

5 out of 5
We took a Norwegian Shore Excursion

Villefranche-Sur-Mer, France

We decided on a Norwegian Shore Excursion

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

5 out of 5
Lots of options of tours and things to do: Pisa, Florence, etc. We had been in Livorno a few times, so we took a Norwegian Shore Excursion to the Ligurian Coast and it was wonderful.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
Rome, another incredible city with many options of things to do.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
A little chaotic at the pick-up exit, because of the number of buses, vans, sedans and options after dissembarkation. Make sure you have the number of your driver or tour provider before you out.

Wonderful review and itinerary! We love a cruise with interesting ports and zero or one sea days.
