Review summary
My first solo cruise (2nd NCL) to Alaska. I was not disappointed. I would definitely do it again. I appreciated the longer port times in Ketchikan, Haines, and the daylight hours in Victoria. The times outweighs the hiccups .Embarkation
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
Garden Cafe
The best part was the soft serve chocolate ice cream. Food wasn't as appetizing. Still had afternoon snacks.
Four Seasons Dining Room
I dined here the most. Meals were good.
Sports Bar
I wish I've eaten here more. I loved the fish and chips. Would've like to try the hot wings.
Cagney's Steakhouse
Very good filet mignon. Service was very nice.
Atrium Café
Great place to people watch, listen to music, and read.
Seven Seas Main Dining Room
Decent and came quick. Had a couple of breakfasts and dinners.
Le Bistro
I think it was too fancy for me. I tried the duck and steak tartar for the first time. I'll admit I struggled with each bite. I put the blame on myself
Moderno Churrascaria
Others complained it was too salty, I didn't see that. A very nice experience.
Onboard Activities
Entertainment
Observation Lounge
My favorite place.

Ship tip
I read a lot of negative reviews and it had me worried. We had our hiccups, engine troubles the first day that made us arrive 4 hours later in Juneau and of course the slight odor smell in my cabin, but I still had a great time on the Sun. I met and talked to very nice people, passengers and staff alike. And as NCL says, I got to do "as little or as much as I like" and enjoyed every minute of it.
