This was a bucket list cruise for us. We enjoyed the trip but definitely not the best cruise experience. For some reason the main buffet layout was a hindrance. Food was not great. Except in specialty restaurants. The main dining rooms were very slow and oftentimes the food was cold.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very easy to embark
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food was just ok. The buffet was laid out awfully so there were always lines. Even to just get a plate.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Couldn’t use pools. Hot tubs were ok. Fitness center was good. Walking track was average. Not much else on this ship.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Not much in terms of entertainment on this trip.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Average, at best. Service in 4 Seasons dining room was horrendously slow. We had much better service in 7 Seas dining.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Layout of main buffet was awful. The rest of the ship was ok.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Very clean.
Ship tip
Plan to eat at odd times to avoid the crowds on main buffet. The set up is awful so people waiting in line to get plates behind people waiting for pasta bar. They have items being served like hot oatmeal. Why? That causes holdups. Just very poorly designed and arranged.
Excursion- Kroshel Wildlife Adventure. Excellent time! But here’s the bad..the cruise ship “sold out” and we got last 2 tickets. We followed up with excursion desk multiple times. Was told they would contact tour operator to see if they could get 2 more tickets for our family. They never did. And we found out when we met with tour guide- only 6 total tickets were sold from our ship. They were given 20 to sell. Do they ran a tour with fewer customers than they were hoping for.
It was foggy. Itinerary had 12-5 as time to be there. Ship got in the vicinity but not close. Turned so all sides could see the other ships closer to the glaciers and then left ! Why?? Very disappointed.
Excursion- orca adventure. Saw many humpbacks but no orcas. After half of us we walked through Victoria and the other half went on another whale watching tour they found by fisherman wharf
Best disembarkation ever. Seattle has a port valet service that is fantastic. Put your packed suitcase out the night before and pick it up at final destination.
