We really enjoyed the cruise and would recommend it to anyone who has not been to the Panama Canal. Loved the ports as well as the sea days.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was smooth and easy to get through. Love being able to provide the credit card information in advance.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was very good but the selection wasn’t. I felt like the variety on the menus was lacking. Our favorite place was Los Lobos. A problem with the beverages was that the ship ran out of many of the favorite wines and spirits.
We were told the company didn’t ship their order properly. Should never happen.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We enjoyed the activities but didn’t participate in most of them. Really enjoyed the Trivia sessions.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The production numbers were great. The production singers and dancers were some of the best we have seen on any ship. The performers around the ship were also very good. Unfortunately, the remainder of the stage shows were not up to our standards which was reflected in the absence of people attending the shows. Each of the outside performers did 2-3 shows each and after seeing their first show even less people showed up for their remaining ones.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
For the most part the service on board was excellent. Our room steward was one of the best ever. As for the service in the main dining rooms it was very slow. We were a party of 6 but dinner time averaged 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Way too long!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was well taken care of and cleaned constantly. We especially liked that the stair railing were cleaned and also our balcony windows.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our cabin was great and our room steward was the best. We had a small problem with the air conditioner and our steward had it reported and fixed immediately. Couldn’t ask for better. Even the windows were cleaned.
Great trip! We took took the NCL Highlights for this tour and our favorite part was the Handicraft Village where we were able to have a local beer while we wandered around the area.
We enjoyed this city (we took a private tour) but it was a traffic nightmare. It took over an hour to get from the dock to the downtown, historic area. I h
Very interesting. We took the NCL tour to Huaco Dragon and Chan Chan sites. We were able to explore the ruins with the help of our very informative guide.
In Manta we took a private tour exploring the city as well as the rain forest. We also learned the history of the Panama Hat and had an opportunity to see how they are made.
This was one of our favorite ports. Although we had been there before, this time we did an NCL tour to the rain forest. It was 8 hours but wonderful scenery and an amazing hike I the rain forest (the only place it rained the entire trip).
No excursion, just lots of pictures of the crossing. We had a person on board who could point out places of interest and give us a history of the canal. Would have been nice to visit the city of Panama as well.
