Please review menus! Will definitely use Norwegian again, maybe a slightly larger ship if the right ports of call for us. (Wanted another transatlantic from Florida to Southampton....will see what 2020 brings....didn't want Barcelona, just a personal choice!) Already starting to look at future cruises!

Food and Dining

Main dining room was fine. Food was questionable. We have cruised since 1988 with various lines, the standards have declined. I can imagine why, it is a fact of "feeding the masses at a reasonable price". I understand the "masses", many people are obese and eat copious amounts of food! However the menus are disappointing. Buffets on top deck: where are all the salad choices? Only cheeses available: American and Colby, some Swiss in cubes. Recently was on a Royal Caribbean cruise and while I prefer Norwegian overall, the food on RC was superior and the salad choices plentiful. Salad area on Norwegian was truly pathetic. Lots of "casserole and stew type" foods. Pizzas, something we rarely eat, but did try on cruise was extremely poor with under-cooked/soggy crust (as mentioned by many guests). Soups and desserts were the better choices but not all want to eat desserts! Specialty dining: Maderno disappointed (what happened to the cerviche we experience on the last 2 Norwegian cruises and the lamb ribs?), was only OK, maybe as we were looking forward to what we previously experienced and it no longer existed. Cagney's was OK. Le Bistro was excellent and we did visit this restaurant twice. I know you can do better overall Norwegian, the dining food experience was disappointing. The wait staff (we requested same table and wait people each evening in main dining area as they were courteous, pleasant and professional.
Onboard Activities

Entertainment

No variety shows but did enjoy the individual acts that performed each evening. Would have liked a few variety (sing/dance) type of entertainers, guess we have been spoiled by previous cruises on multiple lines including Norwegian.
Service and Staff

Never a problem, except could never understand the Cruise Director (original Director left cruise after a few days and Assistant Cruise Director assumed duties). As English was the language spoken, no one could understand (as mentioned by multiple guests).
Ship Quality

Ship appeared clean and maintained. Do wish they had changed the carpets another time other than pour a glue substance to lay new carpet immediately below upper deck restaurant, where the odor permeated all the foods.
Cabin / Stateroom

Clean and adequate. What happened to closet space? This was certainly much smaller than we had on past cruises. Shower? Extremely small, fortunately we "fit" in the shower, I'm sure many passengers do not. Bathroom area was poorly designed. Again, adequate but certainly not up to standards previously experience.
Ship tip
Small cruise ship. (Never understood why the bow was never used for anything). However, nice ship.
There are not enough words to describe this beautiful, small island, the cruise ship did an amazing job setting up bars and foods. While not usually "beach people" we loved everything about this area. Vow to return!
