Food and Dining

Food was average. Main dining room was terrible. First night we were seated right near swinging doors to kitchen. Checked menu daily. NCL never served shrimp or lobster as all other cruise lines always offer. Beef so tough we ended up eating in buffet every night. Same junk every night.
Onboard Activities

Not much to do except bingo, casino or trivia.
Entertainment

NCL singers and dancers were very talented. We enjoyed the Beatles group but they were on three different days.

Service and Staff

Due to the constant change of itinery with very upset passengers, staff were courteous and did the best they could. Our room steward was wonderful. We only ate in Windows twice but waiters were nice...the food on the other hand was ter

Spirit clean but lots of worn out things everywhere. Good thing this ship going in for total refurbishment soon.

Very quiet, room steward wonderful. We had a little extra room so you could open bathroom door and not hit someone standing near closet. Also, our shower had a glass sliding door and was larger than most. Air conditioning worked great. Problem with tv remote. Only person on left side of bed could turn the tv on or change volume by raising arm up high above head due to tilt of tv. Hopefully refurbishment will fix this problem. Plenty of storage but only one night stand. We used desk chair as a night stand on the other side of the bed,
Ship tip
Don't sail on this ship. Too old, bad food. My husband is silver on NCL and didn't even get invite to Captain's party. Just happen to see it in their daily newsletter.
Cute town. Booked Flam Railroad on our own. Beautiful 2 hour train ride. Again, NCL excursion price was so high. We paid $50 each for train ride. I think NCL wanted over $200 per person. If you want to take the train ride book online in advance. We always purchase trip insurance so if NCL didn't go to that port, it would be covered by the insurance. Some people on our train booked their ride the day we arrived in Flam.
Pretty town. We booked a tour through Geiranger Fjord Services. Very good tour but due to snow could not go to top of mountain as road was closed. Guide adjusted tour to include some beautiful country scenery. He dropped us at top near the Nordic Center which was a very nice museum. We walked down from the center and walked down a road along a lovely waterfall. Again NCL excursion price was outrageous so glad we did on our own.
Port was cancelled. Iceland was our main reason for taking this ship. So disappointed. Ship captain opted to take us to five ports in Norway...one was in the same fjord as Geiranger. All he did was sail out to sea and turn around and sail back into same fjord. While Norway was pretty, it was very disappointing to stop at five towns in Norway. One town had one shop open, one place to get coffee and a small waterfall. Nothing to do in the town.
Again, port cancelled. What a waste of time and money to fly from Florida to London for this disappointing trip. Captain cancelled stops to La Have, France and Scotland first due to a broken boat in the port and then changed it to weather. I am sure he knew forecast ahead of time but they deceived us by letting us believe we were going to those ports when they knew we were not. Everyone got up early, only to find out another day at sea on a very boring old ship,
Great city. We did use the ship shuttle (of course at a cost) and then on our own took the hop on hop off bus. Saw close to two hours on the HOHO bus and thenwent to the Belfast City Hall, which was a very beautiful building with nice exhibits, ate in great Irish pub, and somehow found our way back to shuttle. The Irish people so friendly.
Had been to Dublin last year. We loved it and had taken the HOHO bus and Guinness Storehouse tour at that time. This time we walked from the free drop off point (amazing that NCL didn't charge for the bus, but it was then a twenty minute walk to Dublin's light rail. We got round trip from Point Station to Abby Station for $10 (NCL wanted something like $50 or $60 each to drop off nowhere near O'Connolly Street. We had booked on our own through
Viator a tour of the Malahide Castle and the quaint fishing village of Howth, which are west of Dublin. Got to the tourist early, so we're recommended to see a great art museum within walking distance of out tour. Lovely museum near a war memorial. Took our tour at 2 pm with a terrific guide. Went back to Abby Station and rode back to Point Station. Walked towards port but NCL's free shuttle never showed up so flagged a cab. Lucky for us the cab driver took US $10 to put us right in front of the gangway. So much for NCL's free shuttle.
Our flight was scheduled for 2:05 pm. NCL wanted us to depart at 6:30 am. We got them to change time to 7:45 am but the said we had to carry our bags off the ship. We got to Heathrow around 9 am so had a 5 hour wait at the airport.m
Just has a similar experience on the Breakaway. My 1st NCL was on Spirit which was also sub par. Never again will I sail with NCL. Wasted vacation time and money. No fun to be had at all.
