thanks for the memories. The ship was mainly a place to stay and eat. With 9 cities we were constantly on the go. Eating breakfast and dinner on the ship. We were impressed with all the staff. generally The food was average except for the specialty restaurants, they had the better food. Cruises in the past had better types of food in the main dinning areas, there was not a need to go to the specialty restaurants. Only one of the ports was a tender operation. 2 or 3 of the ports required you to be bussed from the ship to the main gate, this was slow.

Food and Dining
4 out of 5
the specialty restaurants were excellent, the food in the main dinning was okay, compared to the specialty dinning. Back in history you did not have to go to the specialty restaurants to receive some specialty meals in the main dinning locations. The beverage package left a lot to be desired. The cost of this package was $80, there were limits on what was available (rail drinks), Specialty liquor was not included, water bottles were not included, a soda cup was not included. The buffets were okay, nothing exciting. The deserts offered were bland, it would be nice to have some of the items from the restaurants served here also. So of the food was overcooked or dried out. The fruit had to be cut by the individual so you had to work harder, previous ships would remove the no edible parts.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Fitness center was to small and hard to find equipment available. The outdoor track was difficult to use because of those using it for general use. The pool was nice, a little cold on some days/
Entertainment

the ships entertainers were great, lots of talent. great choreography. great magic act, how did he do that? the trio did not appeal to us.
Service and Staff

Those taking care of the ship, the servers, bartenders, and cleanup crews where the best that I have seen on a norwegian ship.
Ship Quality

it is an old ship. it shows signs of use. the decor was good it matched the areas visited.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
good room, air conditioning was inadequate. There was foam in the AC vent that blocked the airflow on 3 sides, not sure why. It appeared to be very dirty. The bathroom was okay, I was not happy to see mold int he shower.
Ship tip
Unless you really want to dress up, there is really no need. Most of the restaurants will allow you to wear shorts. This is especially applicable to the warmer months. No sports jackets or long dresses required.
we did the Pompeii and mount Vesuvius, all I can say is what happened to that mountain, it is less than half its original size. Pompeii was amazing to see and take in. The engineering, better than today.
