My husband has always wanted to go on a cruise, but I'd been hesitant because of all the horror stories in the recent years. I looked online and really wanted to get away for vacation and I found a fantastic deal for the Norwegian Sky. My expectations were extremely low, but what I received was a top notch experience and for the price it was well worth it. I have traveled to other islands and stayed very expensive places. The cruise offered an experience for everyone, from those traveling on a budget (which I was this time around) to those who wanted to experience a luxurious get away. One recommendation is to book some the excursions in advance and if you take the ferry in Freeport be prepared to wait. Other than that, plan to have a great trip, full of people watching, and take advantage of the dancing.

ships shows signs of aging, service excellent, entertainment ok (why they use employees to perform?), food good but limited selection (little see food), great destinations! nassau and private island great, freeport least interesting). overall very good trip for the money!

This was a really nice cruise, I'm glad we visited 3 different places as opposed to just staying in one place. The sail was a smooth one. My dolphin swim excursion was awesome, i'll never forget it. it was the best birthday ever at 50. The private beach was also awesome. There was plenty of entertainment for everybody; and plenty of time to tour once we got to the different shore points.  

The dining rooms were a bit chilly for us to sit in them, we ate on the decks.

I think the 1/2 hour window to take pictures with the captain should have been longer. I missed it and that's what I really wanted to do. 

I think you should go back to having dinner with the captain and crew in one of the specialty dining rooms at different times. They did this when I was on my first cruise years ago.

I am looking forward to the next one.

I have cruised twice on Norwegian Sky with positive feedback. I was always referring friends. This past cruise was very poor. Service was terrible. My mother has walking problems and has it not been for me waiting on her hand and foot, she would have had a terrible time. I should have been the one that received gratuity. Only twice throughout the entire cruise did anyone come around the pool area and ask if we needed a drink. I had to get them every time. Most people were never friendly. The dining staff was the exception. everyone was very pleasant. I would rate the food about a C-. Not impressive, except the prime rib. Delicious. Norwegian was always my favorite and this was my mother's 1st real vacation in 17 years. Thanks to MY service she still had a great time. I think next time I will give Carnival another try, I would not say their food is top of the line but I always had great service and they always called me by name. I almost forgot, the staff helping my mother with a wheelchair to get on and off the cruise were wonderful. That was the best service of the entire cruise!   

This cruise was crowded(mostly Miami residents apparently by applause), no entertainment other than a dance troop or staff, no lobster, no really special meals, beds were like sleeping on the floor (4" of collapsing foam on a plastic cot literally).  The things I liked were no rocking ship (due to good weather), good air conditioning and good food just not expensive extraordinary food.  When I take another cruise it will probably be Carnival.  We have had great cruises with Carnival good prices, great food and great variety of entertainment (magicians, impersonators, jugglers, hypnotists, etc) and 24 hour food and midnight buffets with great displays and presentations and great variety. 

we had a great time would do it again any time it was so much fun it went by so fast cant wait to go again next year we love Norwegian tried carnival and Disney don't waist your money its that simple trust me

I was very happy with whole cruise experience on the Norwegian Sky the staff was Great. I cruise a lot and mostly all on carnival. I totally enjoy your cruise line.. and am planning the next trip right now.. hope to see you soon..

The cruise was very nice, with lots of food and lots of fun. There was a casino, several shows, a club and also a karaoke. I would recommend it for sure!

From the time we entered the port we knew that this cruise line was much different than other cruise lines we had been on. Customer service-horrible. Quality of food- horrible. Room-horrible. Let's just say we will never consider Norwegian again. We never got that we are so glad you are here feeling like you do on Carnival and Royal Caribbean.

Not good food, not good shows.  Room was nice and caqbin people were halpful.  Didnt like the sales pitch the minute you got on the ship.  Had hot dogs for lunch.  The pork chops were hard.

This cruise was to celebrate my grandson's 15th birthday..I think it is the best gift you can offer for the enjoyment and relaxation you can get plus savoring good food and entrees and great service of the crew members...I only had a little disappointment at embarkation because I was not alerted of the changes of documents when traveling with a minor....I only carry a letter as I did with other trips on different cruise lines, but never was advised  on your part of bringing picture ID's of parents with signatures....my reservations agent never alerted me on this and we almost lost our cruise on the delay of getting through the smart phones to get such proof... My son was traveling and my daughter in law was on the road at that time and was not easy to finish the whole process...We got there with plenty of time and got on in the last half and hour before sailing...very frustrating.....When traveling with minors this point should be very clear and told by your agents to future passengers. Other than that the experience was good.

Nice cruise...nice ship...good food...good excursions...would go again on this ship. Very pleased with cruise staff and cruise entertainment. Enjoyed poolside entertainment and food served at poolside.

We started our honeymoon experience on this cruise not sure what to expect,being carnival cruisers but it only took a short time with the staff to start warming up and by the first night we were sold. The food was five star restaurant quality with wait staff that would not only remember your name but also sing to you. The shows ranged from funny to hilarious and ran all night to keep you entertained all the time. And the photographers were always there to help catch the the moment. I can't wait to go back!

Interior stateroom was unsatisfactory...lacking poor style and efficiency.

NCL's reputation is in jeopardy if they continue to use staff as stage entertainment...some high school

Variety Shows are better.  Singers were painful at times.

This cruise was less than impressive. The food was terrible...with the exception of paying $30 per person for Cagneys Steakhouse. Entertainment left much to be desired...and the staff was not friendly or helpful at all. Very disappointed. 

For the money we paid it was a great cruise. Food was great, whole ship and room was kept clean, shows were good, staff attitude was professional. Everything was organized well. The only one thing I would complain about was too much chlorine in the pools (I understand why) it bothered my eyes. See you next time Norwegian.  

This was my second cruise, first on Norwegian. It was a relatively short cruise 4 nights on ship, 3 days on island visits.  I thought the buffet was very limited in its selection of items and not all that great.  The restaurants were good and had a decent selection of dinners. The staff were nice, but I felt the activities on the ship were lacking somewhat. There were many music venues at night, but little else.  There were no real acts brought on, which was a little disappointing.  I may have been a bit jaded by my first cruise on another line that was 15 nights and lots more to do.  I will give them another try down the line, perhaps on a longer trip this time.

I was fortunate to have 3 different cruise lines available to me in the time frame I was looking to travel to Florida. All 3 were very close in price, but this website showed a significant onboard credit for the Norwegian cruise, ($75 I think) that made the deal much sweeter.   I was disappointed to discover when I got on board that the none of the promised rewards were applied to my account and Norwegian had no record of Cruise.com's promised perks.  With no cell phone reception once we left the port and with the cost to go online from the ship to email the site  so high, I couldn't justify dealing with it while on board and just decided to just relax and enjoy the trip and send a disgruntled email when I got back. 

But there was a little more salt added to the wound at the end of the trip when NCL also charged an extra $12 per day for gratuities, above and beyond the fees charged in the beginning, (something that I think had been all inclusive with the Carnival cruise I took last time I traveled but its been several years so I might be wrong).   It's not much, but if you already tipped in your room and then you'd been expecting the ship board credit, it's a little frustrating reminder as you're leaving the ship. 

But the ship was very well maintained, the crew super nice, and the overall experience very good.  I do think I would avoid pre-buying too many shore excursions in the future though, as many are available at a reduced rate when you arrive and you might find like I did too much of your day was  pre-planned so there is no time to be spontaneous.    Oh, and one more little gripe. I think it's a bit disingenuous of the ship to offer free ice tea and juices in the buffet area, but only provide the tiniest little juice glasses to drink from.   If you buy a coke or something, they come in large cups, but the complimentary ones are very tiny.

I had not been on the Norwegian Sky in several years and was happy to see that the boat is aging well.   Norwegian's private island makes this trip worth it in itself as they have added more areas to the island and offer a lot to do.  Take the waverunner excursion - the local guides show you a lot of the surrounding area and even allowed a small time to get into the water and dive for starfish.   Nassau, having been there many times, is not my favorite port of call, but there is always something you can do there.  We spent the morning shopping and then went back and had the boat to ourselves seemingly until about 3 p.m.   The entertainment band, Hotwire, was a great respite and provided hours each day of good entertainment.  They can cover a lot of music genres.  The evening shows were very good considering it's a short hop cruise.  The only thing that keeps this cruise from getting 5 stars for me was that the food in the main dining room and the buffets earned a big YUCK from us.  We ate at Cagney's on the first night and were very happy with our choices there.  The second night we ate in the main dining room and got up and left because service and the food was awful.  We spoke to the maitre' d about it as we were leaving and they actually offered us a night at Le Bistro.  Room service had a great BLT, although it took over an hour mid-day to receive our order.  Embarkation and debarkation were a breeze - I like that NCL let's you pick the time you wish to debark with appropriate tag colors.  For the money, this was a great little weekend getaway.

my wife and I were so happy when we got a good promotión and a discounts for next vacations in norwegian sky because it was our second time on the ship, the first experience was good, this one was  better. activities were great, crew were kind all the time, food excelent, shows wonderful and the excursión  especially pretty.,we knew the deep of the ocean and reef.
