The ports were better than expected--very enjoyable. The Kids Club made all of our 4 eligible children in our party happy. The food and the entertainment were the worst of any of the 8 cruises that I have been on. Specifically, the grade of meat and fish were inferior to anything I could ever expect. The fish was inedible--except for a specialty restaurant salmon. Most cruises have superior grades of meat--not so this cruise. Everyone in our party of 13 was grossly dissatisfied with the meat. The exception was breakfast--that was consistently good. Having no changes in the lunch menu was boring--as evidenced by the dining room being 1/8 full at any time at lunch.

After more than 12 cruises, I found NCL to be a complete letdown. My group was open to Freestyle dining but found out after boarding that it was impossible to book a table without first standing in line and then getting a buzzer to alert you when the table was ready. This was very difficult for a larger group; and didn't help that the crew staff constantly pushed you to go to the more reservation-friendly Specialty Dining restaurants - which cost additional. These are nice as a special event on other lines; not an everyday occurance as NCL hopes. The prices on NCL seemed higher, too. From drinks to seminars to charging for a pass to the Spa where most lines would allow free access to sauna or steam rooms, NCL seems to "nickel and dime" passengers at every turn. The Pearl itself was nice, although surprised at the limited amount of adult only space. For example, there are no adult-only pools or lounges; and although I enjoy being around children, this seemed to be especially evident on this ship.

Not much you can say about Alaska that hasn't been said already, just beautiful. The NCL Pearl was a marvellous ship and all of the crew were outstanding and went above and beyond to make everyone's stay on board a total delight.

The only negative I have is the menu in the main dining room seemed limited. Other cruise lines that we have sailed on have offered escargo.frog legs etc. In other words more excotic food in their main dining room, without having to pay extra. We had to ask special for shrimp cocktail, I never had to on other cruise lines.

Our stateroom was the aft of the ship - so we had a daily panoramic view of where the ship was heading (as we passed it of course). The Butler and Steward were excellent as was the Concierge. Service on board in all the specialty restaurants was exceptional as was the food.

It was our first cruise with NCL and we enjoyed it from start to finish. We enrolled in the BAGS program and it was worth the cost.Our bags were picked up and delivered to the airport with no problems.

Took a cruise to Alaska on the Pearl in late May. Nice clean ship. Ports were all easily accessible and we thoroughly enjoyed all the excursions. Overall the cruise itinerary was great and enjoyed the varied ports of Juneau, Skagway, Ketchican and Victoria. Would like to have had more time in Glaicer Bay (was only about 2-3 hours really up close to the glaciers. Short stop in Victoria from 6-11pm. Would have been nice to be able to see for longer. Also was highly annoyed by the Conservationalist or Park ranger talking for large parts of the time in Glacier Bay. Her voice was blaring throughout the ship and I thought it really detracted for the ambiance and attempt to enjoy the scenery.

We were very pleased with the ship, most especially with a staff who were genuinely very friendly and helpful. The food is fit for a "foodie" as we are. The freestyle dining is the best along with the specialty restaurants, my favorites being Cagney's Steakhouse and La Cucina, the Italian restaurant. And, you must play Bingo- they've got a great plan for it. The excursions on our trip to Alaska were enlightening and beautiful!

We sailed to Alaska on Norwegian's Pearl. Wonderful crew and sailing experience. The ship was luxurious, especially loved one of the main dining rooms, The Summer Palace.

The staff was very attentive and friendly. The overall apperance of the ship was great. It was kept up well and clean.

It wad an acerare fruas for us. Good ports and golf people, cree and other travelers.

Not very clean in fact my cabin was filthy when I boarded the previous occupant's crumbs were on every table & when I complained I was told the turn around time is very short so they don't have time to clean Could not sit out on my balcony as I had chain smokers on either side of me so I got smoke in my cabin every time I opened the doors

I would just add this comment which may differ from other experiences. I developed a kidney stone on the second day and went to the ship's infirmary. The doctors and nurses provided excellent care since I was admitted for IV drugs. They continued to check on me throughout the week. Although I was in pain about 25% of the time , the rest of the cruise was comfortable and I really did not miss much. It is reassuring to know that excellent medical care is available if needed.

Exquisite Ship, great food, crew and entertainment

Large, clean ship with many ongoing activities, fantastic food and speical cuisines.

CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!

The crew were the nicest people I had ever had to deal with. The ship is really concerned about cleanliness. They spray your hands with some sort of antibacterial spray before you enter each restaurant. All garbage is recycled! This is not an easy task but they recycle everything.
