We enjoyed this itinerary, and would have loved to have had an extra hour to peruse the port on the really short days. The ship is missing some of the outdoor spaces of the newer NCL ships, but has far fewer passengers and only rarely felt overcrowded, except at the pool. We struggled to find engaging things to do on board that didn't cost extra to participate. However, that allowed me time to read 3 books over the course of the cruise.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Poor directional signage. Difficulty finding the right entry door for terminal.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Specialty restaurants were very good. Main dining rooms and buffet are pretty standard - as expected.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Fitness center is good. Pool and hot tubs are crowded. Everything else has a steep fee to use.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Not as good as other NCL ships. No Broadway shows. Shows weren't bad, just not spectacular.
Children's Programs
No kids
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Great staff. Only encountered one bad apple, and were delighted by the service provided by two others - a waiter and a greeter at the buffet
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
ship was clean and well maintained. Casino was too smoky to enjoy. We liked having a smaller number of passengers, but the ship lacked outdoor lounge/restaurant seating of newer ships
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Small cabin with very little drawer space. Had to hang our shorts and tshirts in the closet. Only 1 person could sit on the couch. Bathroom and shower were a good size. Location was great
Ship tip
Not super accommodating for folks with mobility issues. Tight corridors and only one large handicapped bathroom.
We had a lot of time to explore Curacao, and there is a lot to look at within walking distance of the ship. We did the trolley train excursion to get an overview. They take you by taxi from the port to the trolley - problematic for people with strollers or mobility devices
We have stopped here many times. We opted to take a taxi into town and poke around. Not a ton of stuff to see, but historical/architecturally interesting.
