Norwegian Pearl

Review summary

While we enjoyed our cruise we probably wouldn’t go on a ship as small as the Pearl again. The age was not an issue as it was renovated, it just felt like there were too many people for the size of the ship.

Embarkation

Very easy getting processed.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The Moderno Churrascaria was very good. There was a good selection of food on the salad bar and the meats came out hot and everything we tried was delicious. The main dining room was good but the buffet was not good. Many of the proteins were dried out on a regular basis perhaps either overcooked or just sitting out too long. The cakes were just sheet cakes and were average.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
As a smaller ship than we’re used to it is hard to say if there were fewer activities because of the number of passengers but the bottom line is there wasn’t the number of options we were used to.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Only the Legends in Concert show saved this from being one star. Very good show

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent service too to bottom. We always felt that our business was valued.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Cleanliness was excellent but the ship felt too narrow. Again, this was a smaller ship than we were used to but it just felt a little tight in some areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
For an inside cabin for eleven days we never felt it was too small. It was always cleaned after we left the room which was nice

Ship tip

If you’re going to the buffet for breakfast or lunch and want a quieter experience go across to La Cucina

Ports of call

Kralendijk, Bonaire

Some old time charm which I’m not used to at home

Oranjestad, Aruba

We walked along the coastline. No excursions just beautiful scenery

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

If you like the beach go to Magens Beach . You won’t be disappointed

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Taino Bay was excellent, something for everyone

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
If your photo is in the TSA database getting through will be easy. If for some reason it isn’t you will have to show your ID
