Review summary

Norwegian runs a very user friendly cruise with very good food, service and entertainment served in a comfortable and casual manner.  The management is somewhat unfocused at times yet overall this was a very good cruise.  I would definitely consider choosing Norwegian again.

The cabin was exactly what was expected for a cruise cabin.

Ship tip

The Sunner Palace offers a different menu nightly and reservations are not really needed. There is no reason to pay for specialty restaurants.

Thank you asjz81 for your review and thank you MrChocoholic for mentioning the Russian Czar theme in the Summer Palace.  WE love Russian themes.

Did you notice the Russian Czar theme to the Summer Palace MDR? Paintings of Nicholas, Alexandra and the kids, along with the faux-Faberge eggs along the stairway banister? Glad you mentioned the place because I was totally pleased with it myself, including the Liberace wannabee at the piano. Could not believe how empty it was every night I ate there, so service was prompt and the food was always at the right temperature. You're pretty smart.

Sometimes the problems at embarkation are due to the port not the cruise line.  One time we waited for 45 minutes in a line of cars trying to access the terminal.  The port did not have enough handlers working and those that were onthe job were unhappy being overworked.  This was not the cruiseline's fault but they got the flak for the delay.
